Published: 07/27/03Mariardith WieworkaWorcester, N.Y. — Mariardith Wieworka, 74, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2003. Mariardith was born on July 11, 1929, in Rahway, N.J., and married her beloved husband John on May 6, 1950, in St. Casmir's Church in Brooklyn. They set up their first home in Brooklyn and then moved to Plainview, L.I., where they started their family. In 1969, they made together what they viewed as one of their very best decisions to move to the wonderful community of Worcester, N.Y., where the bonds of friendship were made for life. Mariardith was a young office assistant in New York City, a 29-year leader of the Girl Scouts as well as a lifelong Girl Scout enthusiast, a Worcester Central School aide who ministered to thousands of children, a wonderful mother and wife and the intimate friend of many. She was a wonderful square dance partner, polka partner and partner in life. Many have been the great beneficiaries of Mariardith's legion correspondence and card greeting enthusiasm. Not a birthday, anniversary, holiday or special event went unnoticed by the warm and caring Mariardith. A deeply religious and committed woman, a member of the Altar Rosary Society, and a reader at church until her illness proved to interfere too much, Mariardith was a truly blessed person. Mariardith's family and her extended family of friends, were a source of strength and grounding in her life that was dedicated to making others feel welcome and loved. She is survived by her children, Robert and his wife Janet of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Ardith and her partner Carol of Boston, Mass.; her brother Ellsworth Mosso and his wife Audrey of New Milford, Conn.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John, to whom she was eternally devoted. Calling hours will be held at the E.J. Skinner Co.
