Published: 07/13/03Doris R. SchweerFreehold, N.J. — Doris R. Schweer, 81, of Pamela Court, Spotswood, N.J., died July 11, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Plattsburgh on March 18, 1922, the daughter of Edward and Addie (Sanford) Webber. Doris was born and grew up in Plattsburgh and graduated from Plattsburgh High School. She was a foster parent for many children for 22 years. Survivors include her husband, Martin Schweer of Spotswood, N.J.; one son, Edward and Charlotte Mico of Morganville, N.J.; four daughters, Angela Bowler of Tom's River, N.J., Sherry and Carl Marek of Jackson, N.J., Margaret and Michael Sebok of Spotswood, N.J., and Rebecca and Brian Queenan of Tom's River, N.J.; one brother, Edward "Pete" and Gloria Webber Jr. of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Viola and Frank Besaw of Peru, N.Y., and Marilyn Giamatti of Matawan, N.J.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great - grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, N.Y. Calling hours at the Higgins Funeral Home in Freehold, N.J., will be on Tuesday, July 15 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church in Freehold. Entombment will follow in the Maplewood Chapel Mausoleum in Freehold. Memorial donations may be made to the Asthmatic Foundation. The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Leona Caroline (Williams) PotterPlattsburgh, N.Y. — Leona (Williams) Potter, age 91, of the Victoria House, 125 Court St., Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away on Friday, July 11, 2003, at Meadowbrook Health Care, Plattsburgh, N.Y., in the loving presence of her children. She was born on May 31, 1912, in Port Henry, N.Y., the daughter of Frederick and Cecelia (Breeyear) Williams. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Susan (Eldridge) Crawford of Keeseville, N.Y.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joan (Crawford) and Lester Daby of Port Henry, N.Y., Colleen (Potter) Burton of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Cheryl (Potter) and Dr. John Adams of Monroe, N.C.; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Potter, on June 5, 1981. Her siblings, Fred Williams II, Anna Hardy, Margaret Patnode and ex-husband Marshall Crawford, also predeceased her. She had lived in Keeseville for 32 years prior to coming to Plattsburgh in September of 2001 and before that, in AuSable Forks and Port Henry, N.Y., and in her early first marriage years to Marshall Crawford, lived in Keene Valley. Leona loved cooking, sewing and quilting, all of which she shared lovingly over the years with her family, friends and neighbors. Harland's Funeral Home of Port Henry, N.Y., is in charge of arrangements. Wake hours will be Monday, July 14th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, July 15th at 9:30 a.m. with the funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Moriah Union Cemetery right after the service. McLaughlin — Graveside services for Dean E. McLaughlin, who died June 27, 2003, at Moses-Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga, will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, July 18th, at the Union Cemetery, Port Henry. The Harland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
