Bertha Edith Gambadoro

Cadyville — Bertha E. Gambadoro, 81, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh.

Born in Saranac on April 18, 1922, she was the daughter of Wilfred and Pearl (Goddeau) Favaro.

Bertha was an avid bingo player at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony Gambadoro of Cadyville; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Martha Gambadoro of Saranac; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Donald Barber of Cadyville; a brother, Earl Favaro of Saranac; five grandchildren, Shawn and Lisa Barber of Ogdensburg, Todd Barber and his fiancé Mary of Cadyville, Robert Gambadoro of Saranac, Gary Gambadoro Jr. of Plattsburgh and Angelina and Mickey Dixon of Rotterdam, N.Y.; and seven great-grand-children.

Her parents and her brother, Herman Favaro, died before her.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 11, 2003 at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Dannemora Fire Department.

Arrangements are with the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Melvin E. J. McWhinnie, 80, of Fisk Road, Chazy, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Ormstown, Quebec, July 24, 1922, the son of Edwin and Jessie (Todd) McWhinnie.

As of Saturday evening, calling hours and funeral arrangements were incomplete at R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Cook — A memorial service for Dr. George Peter Cook will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 13, in the Kings Garden at Fort Ticonderoga. A reception immediately following the service will be at the Hancock House.
