Published: 06/13/03Curtis T. Peterson Jr.Antioch, Tenn. — Curtis T. Peterson Jr., 43, of Antioch, Tenn., died early Thursday morning, June 12, 2003, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., from injuries received in a job related accident. He was a native of Colorado Springs, Colo., and a former resident of Athens, Tenn., and Apopka, Fla. He was of the Catholic faith. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and was a member of the BPOE 1927 of Athens. He was a lineman for the Nashville Electric Service in Nashville. Surviving is one daughter, Crystal Peterson and one son, Kyle Peterson, both of Maryesther, Fla.; his parents, Curtis T. "Pete" Sr. and Carol K. Peterson of Athens; one sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Robert Austin of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; a maternal grandmother, Bertha Kaliszewski of Erie, Pa.; and a paternal grandmother, Bettie Louise Dailey of Chesapeake, Va. The body will be in state at Jerry Smith Funeral Home, South White Street, Athens, after 2 p.m. Saturday, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Rev. Ida, 80, of Mineville and more recently of the Lee House Apartments, Port Henry, died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at the Moses-Ludington Nursing Home, Ticonderoga, N.Y. Ruth was born in Putnam, N.Y., on July 25, 1919, the daughter of Oliver and Maude (Jordon) Smith. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Vosburg and husband Gary and Katherine Karkoski and husband Thomas of Ticonderoga, N.Y.; three sons, Frank Ida and wife Joyce of Tampa, Fla., Michael Ida and wife Ginny of High Springs, Fla., and Thomas Ida and wife Sharon of Moriah, N.Y.; one brother, Kenneth Smith and wife Grace of Putnam, N.Y.; one sister, Bulah (Winnie) Smith Archambault Bousquet and husband Henry of Waterford, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; plus two special friends, Giesel Scalzo and Isabel Perez. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Ida, in 1981. She was also predeceased by five brothers: Edgar, Oliver, Carl, Roy and Earnest Smith; and three sisters: Florence Smith, Helen Smith Rafferty and Irene Cole. Calling hours will be Sunday, June 15, 2003, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 16, 2003, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Port Henry, with Rev. Michael Toth officiating. Please make checks payable to "Resident Council". Homer C. BoutteKeene Valley — Homer C. Boutte, 21, of Keene Valley, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, as the result of an accident. He was born on May 2, 1982, in New York City, the son of Thomas J. and Alice (Cheney) Boutte. He was a loyal member of the C.A.R.P. (Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles), a student organization that is part of the Unification Church. He deeply loved nature and loved helping people, especially working with young people of the community. He is survived by his parents of Keene Valley; two brothers, Tierson of Atlanta, Ga., and Jacob of Keene Valley; two sisters, Cara of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Christal of Keene Valley; his maternal grandmother, Alice Rowley Cheney of Keene Valley; seven first cousins; and two uncles and two aunts. He was predeceased by three grandparents, Timothy Cheney and Charles and Aline Boutte. There will be a vigil at the Cheney cottage on Dunham Road in Keene Valley from Thursday evening to Saturday morning. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14th, at 10 a.m. at the Keene Valley Congregational Church. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles at Park Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06604, or a youth group of your choice. Dora Mae Nephew, 82, formerly of Ellenburg, died Sunday, June 8, 2003, at her residence in Lubbock, Texas. She was born in Mooers, March 1, 1921, the daughter of Emmit and Melvina (Willette) Duffina. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Ellenburg Depot. The E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot is in charge of arrangements. |
