Jennie E. Mitchell

Elizabethtown — Jennie E. Mitchell, 89, formerly of Park Terrace, died Tuesday June 10, 2003, at the Horace-Nye Home. where she has been a resident for the past six years.

She was born July 17, 1913, in Elizabethtown the daughter of Caleb and Lydia (Patterson) Smart.

She graduated in 1934 from Elizabethtown High School and attended Albany Business School. She became an LPN while working at Sunmount in Tupper Lake. Upon returning to Elizabethtown in 1969 she worked at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital and did private care for area residents. She was a member of the United Church of Christ women's fellowship. She enjoyed landscape painting, travel and reading.

She is survived by three sons, Caleb Mitchell of Elizabethtown, John Mitchell of Kingsland, Ga., and Robert Pacelli of Toledo, Ohio; eight grandchildren; two nieces, Carolyn Duplessis of Oswego, N.Y., and Genie Smith of Albany, N.Y.; a great-niece; and friend, Fran MacDougal of Elizabethtown; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred J. Mitchell; one daughter, Peggy Bomyea; three sisters, Mary Swan, Frances Smith and Florence Gauthier; and a nephew, David Gauthier.

Calling hours will be held Friday, June 13, 2003, from 2 to 5 p.m. at W.M.Marvins Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held Saturday June 14, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Elizabethtown.

Memorial donations may be made to the Horace Nye Home in Elizabethtown.

Dr. Milton Henry Bennett

Saratoga Springs — Dr. Milton Henry Bennett, 85, of Saratoga Springs and formerly of Tiroga Point in Ticonderoga, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at the Saratoga Hospital.

Born in Bridgeport, Conn., Aug. 14, 1917, he was the son of the late Isadore and Mae (Sherr) Bennett.

Dr. Bennett was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during World War II.

He was a graduate of Mineville High School, Cornell University and Columbia University.

He was a Doctor of Optometry and operated his private practice on North Wayne Avenue in Ticonderoga for many years.

Dr. Bennett was a member and former president of the Ticonderoga Country and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Ticonderoga.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Martha (Reinhaus) Bennett; three sons, Allen Bennett of Tucson, Ariz., Russell Bennett of Averill Park, N.Y., and Mark Bennett of Pacifica, Calif.; one brother, Irving Bennett of Beaver Falls, Penn.; and two grandsons.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will take place at the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga at a time to be announced. Interment will take place at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga.

Donations in his memory may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga.

Walter (Keith) Rancour

PORT HENRY — Walter (Keith) Rancour, 54, of Edgemont Road, Port Henry, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at his home.

He was born on March 29, 1949, at Ticonderoga, N.Y., the son of Walter and Lillian (Peck) Rancour.

Keith was a self-employed electrician/carpenter.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

He is survived by two sisters, Carol Trapasso and Helen Trapasso, both of Port Henry; three brothers, Gary Rancour and Niel Rancour, both on Moriah, and Lyle Rancour of Scottsville, N.Y.

Beside his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Robert Rancour.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be conducted Friday, June 13, 2003, 2 p.m. at the Union Cemetery, Moriah, N.Y., Rev. George Richards, officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to The Disabled American Veterans Association.

Harland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Anita G. Charbonneau

Keeseville — Anita G. Charbonneau, 80, of Cedar Court, Keeseville, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh.

She was born in New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Eutrope and Eva (Malley) Godin.

Anita was the Pastoral Associate for the Catholic Community of Keeseville.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Peter Prescott of Keeseville: a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Elodie Godin of New Brunswick, Canada; one grandson, Romeyn Prescott and children Brady and Kyle of Potsdam; and one granddaughter and her husband, Kelly and Kenneth Doyle and son Prescott of Keeseville.

She was predeceased by her parents and husband E.A. Hubert Charbonneau.

At her request, there will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Keeseville. A private burial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Diocese of Ogdensburg Bishop's Fund, c/o Catholic Community of Keeseville, 1804 Main Street, Keeseville, NY 12944.

Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville.

Dora Mae Nephew, 82, formerly of Ellenburg, died Sunday, June 8, 2003, at her residence in Lubbock, Texas.

She was born in Mooers on March 1, 1921, the daughter of Emmit and Melvina (Willette) Duffina.

Services will be held on Friday at a time to be announced at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Ellenburg Depot.

The E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot is in charge of arrangements.

Ralph Mathew O'Donnell, infant son of William and Elizabeth (Perry) O'Donnell of State Route 30, Malone, N.Y., died at birth, on June 4, 2003, at CVPH in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Cemetery in St. Regis Falls, N.Y., with the Rev. John Demo, officiating.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone.

HENDRIX — A graveside service for Lawrence A. Hendrix, of Ticonderoga, who passed away March 27, 2003, will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the family plot of the South Moriah Cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Elliott A. Shaw of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, Ticonderoga.
