Keith "Peanut" Nolan

Altona — Keith "Peanut" Nolan, 27, of Rand Hill Road, died on Monday, June 9, 2003, as the result of a motorcycle accident.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Feb. 6, 1976, son of Keith Nolan and Mary E. (Trim) Nolan.

Peanut attended Peru Central School. He was currently employed at Mold Rite Plastics in Plattsburgh. Peanut was a member of the Altona Volunteer Fire Department; he enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling and hunting. He loved to spend time with his nieces and nephews.

Peanut is survived by his wife Tousha L. (Smith) Nolan from Altona; they were married in August of 1998; his father, Keith D. Nolan of Plattsburgh; his mother and her companion, Mary E. McKee and Lloyd Provost of Ellenburg; his stepfather, Roger McKee of Schuyler Falls; two brothers, Jason Tuller of Beekmantown and Dale and his wife Jessica McKee of Plattsburgh; one sister, Carol McKee and her companion Mark LaGrave of Black Brook; his maternal grandparents, Frederick and Carol Trim of Morrisonville; four nieces and nephews, Kourtnee and Kody Smith, Keagen LaGrave and Kelsey McKee. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Randy and Janice Smith of Altona; a brother-in-law and his wife, Travis and April Smith of Altona; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Ula Smith of Ellenburg Center; maternal grandmother Florence Peryea of Altona; and many aunts, uncles, cousins; and many special friends.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 11, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Altona. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 12, 2003, at 11 a.m. from Holy Angel's Church in Altona. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Kathryn E. Paye

Saranac Lake — Kathryn (Katy) E. Paye, 66, of Saranac Lake, died Monday, June 9, 2003, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

She was born in Saranac Lake on Dec. 23, 1936, the daughter of Albon and Lucy (Morris) Hurlburt.

Mrs. Paye worked for the American Management Association (AMA) for 38 years, retiring on May 31, 1998, as assistant to the controller. An avid bowler, she was a member of several leagues including the Merchants League, where she was secretary-treasurer. She was a member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress, the Women's Bowling Association, where she held the office of treasurer and the North Country Women's Progressive Bowling Association. She was a long-time Yankee fan and enjoyed fishing and camping.

She is survived by her former husband, Orville Paye of Saranac Lake; a sister, Evelyn Rich and her husband Dick of Tupper Lake; a brother, George Hurlburt and his wife Marian of Newcomb, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews; several grandnieces and nephews; and many friends, including Jean and Tracy, the Murphy family and Nona Greenier.

Visitation will be held at Fortune - Keough Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Linda McIntyre, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

Friends wishing to remember Mrs. Paye may make memorial contributions to High Peaks Hospice or Tri-Lakes Humane Society in care of the funeral home.

Leland "Chip" C. Flint Jr.

Ambridge, Pa. — Leland "Chip" C. Flint Jr., 36, of 4 Zehnder Rd., Ambridge, died suddenly on Monday, June 9, 2003, at the Medical Center in Beaver, Pa.

He was born in Rochester, N.Y., on Oct. 9, 1966, the son of Leland and Wanda (Johnson) Flint.

Chip had been a resident of Ambridge, Pa., for the past 13 years, coming from Saranac Lake where he had worked numerous jobs. He was most recently employed as a computer technician for the McDonald Equipment Co. in Carnagie, Pa. Chip had attended and graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1986, where he had been a member of and had competed on the Saranac Lake track team. He later attended and graduated from the Bidwell Business Institute in Carnagie, Pa., with a degree in computer programming.

He is survived by his father and mother, Leland and Wanda Flint of Saranac Lake; one brother, Paul Flint of Saranac Lake, N.Y.; his grandmother, Marion Fletcher of Vermontville, N.Y.; his grandfather, Basil Johnson of Bloomingdale, N.Y.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bette Chesbrough; his stepgrandfather, Leon Chesbrough; his stepgrandfather, James Fletcher; paternal grandfather Rockwood Flint; and a niece and nephew.

Calling hours will be held at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 13, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. David Drake Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Vermontville.

Mary Louise Jones

Chazy Lake — Mary Louise Jones, 64, of Chazy Lake, died Monday, June 9, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Chazy Lake on March 2, 1939, the daughter of George and Delvina (Garrow) Cayea.

Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her flower garden, cooking and spending time with her friends and family.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s parish in Dannemora.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Cornelius Jones.

She is survived by two sons, William Taft and wife Pamela Jones of Adams, N.Y., and George Jones and his companion Victoria Siskavich of Chazy Lake; a daughter, Cornelia Ann Jones and her companion James Vincent of Chazy Lake; her grandchildren, Melissa and Patrick Rabideau, Cody and Logan Jones; and a great - granddaughter, Amber Louise Moore.

She is also survived by a close cousin, Betty Sorrell of Florida.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday from St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Gordon F. Cawley

Ticonderoga — Gordon F. Cawley, 86, of Lake George Avenue in Ticonderoga, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 9, 2003, at his home.

He was born in Elizabethtown on April 1, 1917, the son of Frank and Martenia (Rumney) Cawley.

A communicant of St. Mary's Church in Ticonderoga, Mr. Cawley was a both a 3rd and 4th degree member of the Ticonderoga Knights of Columbus. He was a past Grand Knight of Council 333 as well as a past Faithful Navigator of the Ticonderoga 4th Degree K of C. He also served as past District Deputy, representing St. Isaac Joques Council 333.

In 1981 Gordon commenced serving as Ticonderoga village trustee and he also served many of the 16 years as Ticonderoga deputy mayor.

Gordon was a graduate of Ticonderoga High School where he found his love for baseball. A devoted Yankee fan all his life, he also was a noted manager for the Ticonderoga town baseball team.

He worked at C.J. Miner, E.J. Monroe and Pond Lumber Coal Company before moving on to International Paper Ticonderoga Mill, first as a timekeeper and eventually Supervisor of Stores. He was a member of the IP Quarter Century Club.

He was both an avid hunter and fisherman and he served as chairman of the board of the Boot Bay Hunting Club.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Along with serving his community, he was always ready to help his grandchildren with whatever project they needed help with.

Besides his wife of 64 years, Georgia (Benway) Cawley, he is survived by one daughter, Patricia Gilchrist of Shushan; grandsons Robert and his wife Laurie Cawley and James Cawley of Ticonderoga, Jeffrey Gilchrist of Waterford and Brian Gilchrist of Cambridge; granddaughters Kelly Gilchrist of Argyle and Amy Gilchrist of Shushan; great - granddaughter Samantha Cawley of Ticonderoga and great-grandson Caleb McWhorter of Queensbury; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by one son, Robert Cawley Sr.; and one sister, Agnes Aunchman.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11th, at the Connery & Gunning Funeral Home in Ticonderoga. A Catholic Wake service with the Ticonderoga K of C assisting will be held at the funeral home at 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2003, at St. Mary's Church in Ticonderoga, with the Rev. Alan Shnob of St. Mary's in Massena officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ticonderoga.

The family suggest memorials to St. Mary's School in Ticonderoga.

Harold W. Bourke

Middletown, Del. — Harold W. Bourke of Middletown, Del., passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 7, 2003. He was 83.

Mr. Bourke was born on Aug. 16, 1919, in Rouses Point, N.Y., the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Masterson) Bourke.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 28 years, Pauline (Dupras) in 1971 and by his second wife of 17 years, Phyllis (Bogdahn) Duranceau. His brother, Thomas Bourke and his sister, Lilyan Plumb, also predeceased him.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942 and flew many missions as a flight engineer on aircraft including the B-17, B-24, B-25, B-26, C-46 and C-54, ferrying them from the States to the European and Pacific Theaters. During the Vietnam War, he served as an aircraft maintenance supervisor on the B-52. He retired in 1969 after 27 years of service with the rank of senior master sergeant.

He belonged to St. Joseph's Parish in Middletown and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a proud member of the Wilmington Warrior Association, a reunion group of World War II veterans who served with the 2nd Ferrying Group at the former New Castle Army Air Base. His many interests included gardening, sports, puzzles and traveling and he was a life long fan of the New York Yankees.

A daughter, Caroline Clark, son-in-law Duncan and granddaughters Elizabeth and Julie, with whom he lived, survives him. He also leaves a stepdaughter, Carol Noble, son-in law Barry and granddaughter Sara of Saco, Maine; four stepsons and families; and many cousins, nieces and nephews in the United States, Ireland, England and Wales.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point with the burial following in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Eva L. (White) Rabideau

Plattsburgh — Eva L. (White) Rabideau, 90, of Kenwood Avenue in Delmar, N.Y., died Monday, June 9, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born on July 23, 1912, in Ellenburg, daughter of the late Wallace and Cora (McKinney) Owens.

In her early years, she was honored as a member of the Clinton County Home Bureau Executive Committee sponsoring the Dannemora, Lyon Mountain, Standish and Saranac units while in office. She was also a member of the Saranac Valley Rebekah Lodge No. 17 serving as president of the Clinton District. She was vice president of the WSCS, Women's Society Christian Service. She was a graduate of Grasslands Nursing College and worked at Physicians' Hospital in Plattsburgh, Mary Fletcher Hospital in Burlington, Vt., and Albany Medical Center.

Eva was the wife of the late Edward White from 1928 to 1966; and the late Joseph Rabideau from 1968 to 1993. She was the sister of the late Ansel Owens and Ola Grogan of Chateaguay, N.Y. She was the mother of the late Edward White Jr. and Janet Chamberlain.

She is survived by her son Robert Owens White and his wife Kate White of Averill Park, N.Y.; her daughter Mona Fay Wright of Massena; and 11 grandchildren; 22 great - grandchildren; four great - great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Thursday, June 12, 2003, from 9 a.m. to noon from the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel at noon. Burial will follow in the Saranac Independence Cemetery in Saranac.

Margaret (Peg) R. Anders Patterson

Baltimore, Md. — Margaret (Peg) R. Anders Patterson, born on Aug. 12, 1923, in Baltimore, beloved wife of the late Master Sergeant Zera H. Patterson Jr., U. S. Air Force, died at her home in Baltimore surrounded by her daughters, Kathryn Gabig and Rebecca Patterson, on Sunday, June 8, 2003.

Additionally, she is survived by one son, Zera H. Patterson III; and several grandchildren, including Christi Caramia, Clayton B. Webber, Erin M. McCargish and the children of Zera H. Patterson III.

Peg lived in Plattsburgh for many years during the time she and her family were stationed here. She was very active in the First Presbyterian Church of Plattsburgh. She will be missed by all those people who were touched by her great, good humor and her kind and gentle heart.

Interment will be at the Baltimore National Cemetery on June 11, 2003.

Donations in her name may be made to Hospice.

Kent Millar Crooks, 69, of State Rt. 374, Chateaugay Lake, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh, N.Y.

He was born in Shelley, Idaho, on May 31, 1934, the son of Clifford and Mary (Millar) Crooks.

Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 10th, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 11th, from 10 to 11 a.m., with funeral services following at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place at Ridgeway Cemetery, Burke.

Gertrude P. Boulais, 93, of State Route 95, Bombay, passed away Monday morning, June 9, 2003, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone.

She was born in Granby, Quebec, on May 12, 1910, the daughter of the late Edouard and Elisabeth (LaRochelle) Potvin.

Calling hours will be in the Cappiella-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 14th, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Bombay, officiated by the Rev. Kris Lauzon, pastor. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Russell Dean Elethorp, 75, formerly of Ticonderoga and more recently of the ARC in Elizabethtown, died Monday, June 9, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh following a brief Illness.

He was born in Crown Point on May 3, 1928, the son of Raymond and Irene (Rafferty) Elethorp.

There will be no calling hours. A full obituary will be published with the announcement of Dean's memorial and graveside services.

Arrangements are with the Connery & Gunning Funeral Home in Ticonderoga.

Jennie E. Mitchell, 89, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at the Horace Nye Home.

Arrangements are incomplete with W.M. Marvins Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

Carr — A graveside service will be held for Carolyn Carr of Port Henry, who died March 1, 2003, on Thursday, June 12, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Union Cemetery in Port Henry.
