Toly "Tim" Poleshuk

Mooers — Toly "Tim" Poleshuk was born on Sept. 6, 1916, and died on March 7, 2003, at the age of 86.

Tim was born in Chicago, Ill., the son of Stephan and Mary Poleshuk. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Vincent, Alex and Fred Poleshuk.

He is survived by four sisters, Agnes Soditi, Lilly Flaherty, Mary Waugh and Olga Smith, all from Florida. Tim also had a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Lillian Wysko of Mooers, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 14 nieces; and 11 nephews.

Tim moved to St. Louis, Mich., with his family, where as a young man he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Aug. 31, 1940, where he served six years active duty in the Pacific Theatre, Sixth Marines Second Marine Division, where he assisted assault troops in the taking of the islands of Guadalcanal, Tarawa, the Gilbert Islands, Sipan, Tinian and the Marianas Islands. His brother Fred lost his life on one of those islands.

Tim was discharged Aug. 30, 1946, at which time he moved to Lansing, Mich., where he married Irene (Wysko) Poleshuk and spent 30 years working at the Oldsmobile Division of General Motors. In 1990, Tim and Irene moved to Mooers, N.Y., where two years later, Irene passed away.

They were members of St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. Tim loved to travel, loved family and being around people. In March, he passed away. Tim will be missed by all who knew him.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks on May 14, 2003, at 9 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery next to Irene.

Philip T. Siebel

Plattsburgh — Mr. Philip T. Siebel, 64, of Cornelia Street, Plattsburgh, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on July 3, 1938, the son of William and Laura (Pratt) Siebel. Philip had worked with his father at Cranes Men's Store in the North Country Shopping Center, CVPH Medical Center and later at the American Legion Post 20 in Plattsburgh. Philip was a member of St. Peter's Church.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Laura Siebel.

Philip is survived by a brother, Larry Siebel and his wife Kathy of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Alice Heckard and her husband Richard of Plattsburgh, Joan Parker and her husband Gene of Plattsburgh and Janet LaBombard and her husband James of Plattsburgh; two aunts, Elsie Pratt of Peru, N.Y., and Renee Park of Schenectady, N.Y.; one uncle, Francis Golden and his wife Nathalie of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be Sunday, May 11, 2003, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, May 12, 2003, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church.

Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Friends wishing may make donations in his memory to the Here to There Campaign, in care of the Foundation of CVPH Medical Center, 75 Beekman St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.

Luva T. Malloy

Chief Operator; N.Y. Telephone Company

Constable — Luva T. Malloy, 72, of Constable, died Thursday, May 9, 2003, at the Alice Hyde Hospital in Malone, N.Y., surrounded by her family.

She was born in Churubusco, N.Y., on April 25, 1931, the daughter of the late Felix and Stella (Decosse) Trombly.

A graduate of Chateaugay High School, she worked for the N.Y. Telephone Company in Plattsburgh and Troy, N.Y., and was promoted to chief operator where she worked in Malone, Potsdam and Albany, N.Y. She retired after more than 30 years of service and has resided in Constable, N.Y., for over 20 years.

Surviving are her daughter Sharyn Malloy Bennett of Glen Ridge, N.J.; grandsons Conrad and Bryan Bennett; sisters Dorothy Strazerri of Albany, Jean Ryan of Merrill and Rita Geroux Hall of Massena; brothers Chester Trombley of Massena, David Trombly of Buffalo and Bob Geroux of Ancram, N.Y.; dearly beloved nieces and nephews of the Ryan family, Patricia and Donald Covey, Susan and Tom Leahy, Cindy and Chris Dufore, Joe and Lillie Ryan, Michael and Peggy Ryan, James and Kim Ryan, Jennifer and Eddie Lockwood, Nancy and David Strazerri of Albany, Scott, Kim and Jay Trombly of Broadalbin, Diane Major and Danny Francia, Stephanie, Valerie and Jason Trombly, Christa and Scott Hall and Christopher and Brenda Geroux.

She was predeceased by her brothers Floyd, Kem and Ross Trombly; and sister Irene Francia.

Lou Malloy will be dearly missed by her many friends and relatives. She touched the hearts and lives of many people.

Calling hours will be at the Chateaugay Funeral Home, 36 Church St., Chateaugay, N.Y., (518-497-6781), on Sunday, May 11, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Churubusco, N.Y., at 11 a.m.

Riverside Cemetery — A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at the Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh at 10 a.m. for Ethel Lindberg, Margaret Sherlock and Dorothea Kozlowski. The arrangements are by the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Riverview Cemetery — A committal service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2003, at Riverview Cemetery in Chazy for Herman Wild at 2:30 p.m. and Joyce Sullivan at 2:45 p.m. The arrangements are by the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Sacred Heart Cemetery — A committal service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2003, at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Chazy for Margaret Caska at 1:30 p.m., Glen Spellman at 1:40 p.m., Agatha Filion at 1:50 p.m. and Taylor LaPlante at 2 p.m. The arrangements are by the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
