Isabel Wood Griffin

Dannemora/North Fort Meyers, Fla. — Isabel Wood Griffin, 88, of North Fort Meyers, Fla., formally of Dannemora, N.Y., died March 31, 2003.

Isabel was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. After the death of her husband, Floyd S. Wood in 1959, Isabel continued to raise their children in Dannemora. She worked as a nurse in the prison hospital for approximately 12 years. She married and left Dannemora in 1972.

Isabel is survived by her second husband, Roland Griffin of North Fort Meyers, Fla., and her three children and their spouses, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. They are Stephen A. Wood, of Gloversville, N.Y., his wife Geri and their son Nicholas; Janice I. Campbell, of Colchester, Vt., her husband James and their children Christopher, his wife Elissa, Dennis, Nathan, Valerie and Heather; and Anne L. Pingrey, of Pittsford, N.Y., her husband Jeffrey and their children Laurie, her daughter, Hannah, Jennifer, her husband Dave and their children Lauren, Anna and Andrew and his wife Sara and their daughter, Prudence.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., May 31, 2003, at the White Church Cemetery in Lisbon, N.Y.

Arrangements are with Fox-McLellan Funeral Home in Ogdensburg, N.Y.

Robert F. Locklin

AUSABLE FORKS — Robert F. Locklin, 74, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at his winter home in Paisley, Fla.

Robert was born Jan. 25, 1929, in Northfield, Vt. He was raised in Chazy and moved to AuSable in the early ’70s.

He served in the armed forces during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged. Robert was employed with the N.Y.S.&C. Corp. as a lineman and later as a chief lineman for 33 years, retiring in 1987.

Robert was active in the community as a town assessor and then as a codes enforcement officer for the Town of Jay.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Helen (Baker) Locklin; two sons and their spouses, Bruce and Susan Locklin of AuSable Forks and Brian and Jessica Locklin of Queensbury; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicole, Emily and Jonathan; a brother, Horace and Jane Locklin of Point au Roche; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert had many hobbies: tool collecting, coin collecting and genealogy. Robert will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He was a member of Tahawus Lodge #790 of F.&A.M. of AuSable Forks and the Lions Club of AuSable Forks.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 10 a.m. Monday, May 12. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Chazy.

Donations in his memory may be made to the AuSable Forks Volunteer Ambulance Service. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Mary A. Hulbert

PLATTSBURGH — Mary A. Hulbert, 91, of Prospect Ave., died on Sunday, May 4, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Delhi, N.Y., on Sept. 29, 1911, the daughter of William and Elizabeth McDonald.

She graduated from Delaware Academy High School in 1929 and Albany Business College in 1930. While in college she joined the local Trinity Methodist Youth Group where she met Donald Hulbert. They were married on Sept. 16, 1933, in Delhi. Donald died on Nov. 16, 1986.

Mary was well known for her beautiful gardens, her culinary talents, her zest for life and her willingness to help anyone in need. She could often be found in her garden behind Hulbert Bros., and was known by those who work there as "Ma" Hulbert. Her homemade specialties were favorites of many at the local Farmer's Market and church bazaars. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Plattsburgh. Her smiles, conversations and generosity will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara and Robert Miner of Plattsburgh, Betty and Charles Nittinger of East Greenbush, N.Y., and Katherine and Joseph Kalin of Phoenix, Ariz.,; two sons, Donald and Darla Hulbert of Shelburne, Vt. and Lawrence and Nancy Hulbert of Elizabethtown; one brother, William and Lois McDonald of Hamden, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her parents and one sister, Effie Rivenburg, died before her.

Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, May 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.

Memorials in Mary's name may be made to the First Baptist Church Music Fund, Corner of Oak and Court Streets, Plattsburgh, N.Y.

Arrangements are with he R.W. Walker Funeral Home.

Muriel P. Joubert

Ticonderoga — Murial P. Joubert, 82, of Kennedy Drive, Ticonderoga, died May 4, 2003, at the Albany Memorial Hospital, Albany, N.Y.

She was born in Ticonderoga, March 31, 1921, the daughter of Elmer and Alice (Payne) McMurtry.

Mrs. Joubert worked as an accountant at the International Paper Company Ticonderoga Mill for 44 years.

She was a member of the International Paper Company Quarter Century Club. She also enjoyed many hours of sewing and needlework.

She is survived by a son, James Joseph Joubert of Newberry Park, Calif.; two daughters, Marilyn Bell of Albany, N.Y., and Susan Yaw of Ticonderoga, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, Rebecca Joubert and Amanda and Alex Yaw of Ticonderoga, Annie and Patrick Bell of Albany, Steven Joubert of New Jersey and Scott Joubert of Calif., two stepgrandchildren, Nate Yaw of Ticonderoga and Adam Yaw of Glen Falls; great-grandchild, Steven Joubert.

Her husband, Carl died July 7, 1997.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Connery & Gunning Funeral Home in Ticonderoga. A funeral service will take place at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the Ticonderoga Emergency Squad, 1 Depot Street, Ticonderoga, N.Y.

Evelyn Strong, 81, of Wadhams Road, Elizabethtown, died Monday May 5, 2003, at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital.

She was born July 17, 1921, the daughter of Harry and Bessie (Vaughn) Emnott.

No calling hours will be held. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday May 6, 2003, at W.M. Marvins Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial will follow at the Reber Cemetery.

Donna I. Snyder, 48, of County Route 38, Constable, N.Y., died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at her home while under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc.

She was born in Potsdam, N.Y., April 14, 1955, the daughter of Donald M. and Alice Parker Crinklaw.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be private and at the convenience of the family, at the Fairview Cemetery in Canton, N.Y., with Chris LaRose from Hospice of the North Country officiating.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone.

ELIZABETH M. BLAKELY, 93, of the Farrar Home, Constable Street, Malone, N.Y., died Monday, May 5, 2003, at that facility. She was born Feb. 5, 1910 'n Churubusco, N.Y.

She was the daughter of Frank and Mary (LaCount) Besaw.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame Church. Entombment will take place in Whispering Maples Memorial Garden in Ellenburg Depot, N.Y.

Funeral arrangements are through St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home, Inc.

RAYMOND C. LaBombard, 93, of the senior housing unit, Town of Black Brook, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh, where he had been a patient since March 3, 2003.

He was born Feb. 9, 1910, in Black Brook the son of Edward and Melinda (Akey) LaBombard.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be

celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Holy Name Catholic Church, AuSable Forks. Burial will follow in Holy Name Cemetery.

MOORES — A memorial Mass and graveside service for Blanche M. Collins, who passed away over the winter will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at 9 a.m. at the St. Joseph's Church in Mooers. The committal will follow in the St, Joseph's Cemetery, Mooers.

Arrangements were with the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Mooers Forks — A graveside service for Ruth L. Mickelson, who passed away over the winter will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at 12 noon at in the Union Cemetery in Mooers Forks.

Churubusco — A graveside service for Della L. Charette, who passed away over the winter will be held Tuesday, may 6, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery in Churubusco.

Arrangements were with the Brown Funeral Home in Cadyville.

West Chazy — A memorial Mass and committal service for Pamela J. Gonyea, Leeward A. Coryea and Lawrence Brunell Sr., who passed away over the winter will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at 1 p.m. from St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Committals will follow in the St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Arrangements were with the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Ticonderoga — A graveside service for Tracey Lee Anderson, who passed away Dec. 29, 2002, will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, Ticonderoga.

WEST CHAZY — A memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy on May 7, 2003, at 1 p.m. with burial to follow for Gloria Paul, Alice Robare, Noella Chauvin, Ruth Brunell and lone Barcomb.

The arrangements are by the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

PAYNE — A graveside service for Lindon Clyde Payne will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at 12 p.m. at the West Chazy Rural Cemetery.

The arrangements are by the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Siskavich — A graveside service for Trina Moulton Siskavich, 28, of Route 3, Cadyville, who died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, will be held Friday, May 9, 2003, at 9 a.m. at the Independence Cemetery in Saranac.

Arrangements were by the Hamilton Funeral in Peru.
