Published: 05/02/03Frances Anne BarnesSyracuse, N.Y. — Frances Anne Barnes, 59, of 114 Miller Dr., East Syracuse, died at home on April 27, 2003, with her family at her side. She was born in Plattsburgh on Dec. 21, 1943, the daughter of George and Viola (Fountain) Soucy. She graduated from Our Lady of Victory Academy and was also a graduate of Kanaly’s School of Beauty. She worked 16 years at PHP East. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Minoa. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Lawrence C.; three daughters, Kimberly Barnes of Buffalo, Heather and Jeff Hutton of Tully and Jody Barnes of Baldwinsville; a grandson, Jake Hutton, age 4; a granddaughter, Erin Hutton, age 2; her mother-in-law, Jane Barnes of Fayetteville; a brother and sister-in-law, Olin and Shirley Fountain of Plattsburgh; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Tom MacFadden of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Joseph. Fran was a friend to everyone and a true cancer hero. She will be greatly missed and will remain forever in our hearts. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Eaton-Tubbs-Schepp Funeral Home, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. Memorial services were at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary's Church, Minoa. Molloy Rd., Mattydale, NY 13211. Bernadean M. ConnellyCollierville, Tenn. — Bernadean M. "Deannie" Connelly, 79, of Collierville, Tenn., and formerly of Dannemora and Plattsburgh, passed away on March 2, 2003, in Santa Clarita, Calif. Angeleno Valley Mortuary of Hollywood, Calif., prepared arrangements. Bernadean, a writer, former talk show host, traffic manager, office manager and salesperson for the media business and former employee of WEAV Radio in Plattsburgh, N.Y., was the widow of Robert C. Connelly. She is survived by five daughters, Michaela "Mickey" Rowlson of Collierville, Tenn., Maureen MaGinn of Stephenson Ranch, Calif., Melissa D'Aust of Dannemora, N.Y., Morynda Grom of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Jeanne Deegan of Long Beach, Calif.; a son, Patrick L. Connelly of Collierville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Masses were held on March 7, 2003, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Santa Clarita, Calif., officiated by Msgr. Montoya and on April 5, 2003, at St. Brigid Catholic Church, Memphis, Tenn., officiated by Rev. Michael Stewart. A burial service will be conducted at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Dannemora, N.Y., on July 5, 2003. The family requests that donations and memorials be sent to the American Heart Association and the American Kidney Foundation. Sara G. BrennanMineville, N.Y. — Sara G. Brennan died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vt. She was born on Nov. 3, 1917, to Howard and Mary Gehret. Sara graduated from Mineville High School in 1935 and South Hampton School of Nursing in 1938. Sara married John (Jack) Brennan in Youngstown, Ohio, on Aug. 16, 1940. She was a past member of the Mineville Home Bureau, charter member of Sts. Peter & Paul’s Rosary Society, past member of the Mineville Witherbee Fire Department Auxiliary and member of the Town of Moriah Historical Society. She belonged to St. Patrick’s Church, Port Henry, where she was a Eucharistic minister and a commissioned lay minister. Sara was the organist at the former Sts. Peter & Paul’s Church in Mineville for 25 years and the organist at St. Patrick’s Church for 13 years. She was also a member of the Town of Moriah RSVP, where she made many mittens, hat sets and baby articles that were donated to persons in need. She was made an honorary member of All Saints Rosary Society in 2002. Sara is survived by her husband Jack; her sons and their wives, Thomas and Linda of Bedford, N.H., Paul and Ro of Syracuse, N.Y., Bruce of Dundee, N.Y, Jim and Louanne of Canastota, N.Y., and Mark and Kelly of Lancaster, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Ronald and a son Robert. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m on Friday, May 2, 2003, at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry, N.Y. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 3, 2003, at 10 a.m. at St Patrick’s Church, Port Henry, with Rev. Michael Toth officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Moriah, N.Y. Zabriskie — Funeral services for Dorothy Robinson Zabriskie, 91, of Washington Avenue, Albany, who died April 3, 2003, at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, will be held on May 5 at 1 p.m. in the Chateaugay Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Gifford officiating. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery, Chateaugay. Earl John LaFountain, 82, a resident of The Dalles, Ore., died at his home on Tuesday, April 29, 2003. He was born April 12, 1921, in Mooers Forks, N.Y., to Oliver and Emma (Gadway) LaFountain. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, The Dalles, Ore., at 10 a.m. on Monday. Burial services will be held at 1 p.m. at Gethsemani Catholic Cemetery in Portland, Ore. Funeral arrangements by Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home, The Dalles, Ore. Glenn D. Odone Sr., of Mt. Pisgah Rd., Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at the Adirondack Medical Center at Saranac Lake. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with pastor Michael Stanly and pastor Ira Stanley concelebrating. Burial will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery. Charles David Arnold Jr., infant, died April 28, 2003, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, N.Y. He was born April 28th, the son of Charles D. Arnold and Amie Lynn Denton. A graveside memorial service will be held Sunday, May 4, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the Memorial Cemetery, Willsboro, N.Y. Rev. Virginia Pierce will officiate.
