Published: 05/01/03Russell H. LaRockSCHUYLER FALLS — Russell H. LaRock, 71, of Lynn View Drive, Houston, Texas, passed away January 18, 2003, at the Park Plaza Hospital in Houston Texas. He was born June 2, 1931, in Schuyler Falls, N.Y., the son of Herbert LaRock and Roseanna Gumlaw. Russell was educated in Schuyler Falls and Peru, N.Y., schools. Mr. LaRock served in the U.S. Army in 1951. He was service manager at Jim Culligan Pontiac in Buffalo, N.Y., and was a mechanic for A.J. Foyt (professional racer) in Houston, Texas, later owning his own business, LA Auto Towing, in Houston, Texas, he retired in 1993. Russell married Marie M. Herman on May 8, 1951, in Plattsburgh, N.Y. Survivors include, his wife, Marie M. LaRock; one son, Ricky D. LaRock of Roanoke, Va.; one daughter, Linda M. LaRock of Alexandria Bay, N.Y.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Russell was predeceased by his parents; two daughters, Bonnie Lee LaRock and Angela Ann LaRock; and five siblings, Nelson LaRock, Peter LaRock, Ruth, Ethel and May. A graveside service will be held at Magdala Solitude Cemetery, Morrisonville, N.Y., Friday, May, 2, 2003, at 1 p.m. with Father Joe Elliot, officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Costello Funeral Home, Alexandria Bay, N.Y. is in charge of the arrangements. Charlene May Norton, 51, formerly of Ticonderoga, died Friday, March 21, 2003, in Gainesville, Fla. She was born Oct. 15, 1951, in Ticonderoga, N.Y. There will be no calling hours. A gathering in her memory will be held at a later date. The Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements. |
