Robert Lee Cane

Beekmantown — Robert Lee Cane, 61, of Spellman Road, died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Jan. 2, 1942, the son of Robert and Elizabeth (LaPlante) Cane.

He was a farrier working in the local areas from 1964 to 1986. He was also a correction officer from 1965 to 1987, retiring from Clinton Correctional Facility due to illness.

Mr. Cane was a member of the Dannemora United Methodist Church.

He was also a member of the Siberian Rod & Gun Club in Dannemora, the Dannemora Riding Club, a former member of the Dannemora Volunteer Fire Department and the American Quarter Horse Association.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Stephen (Tracy) Coffey of Troy, Mrs. Brian (Jody) Desso of Peru and Shelley Cane of Beekmantown; two grandchildren, Jacob Cole Desso and Rylee Sage Desso; one sister, Nancy Rockwell of Mooers; one niece, Lori Johnson; and one nephew, Lance Johnson; one aunt, Nina LaPlante Harpp of Plattsburgh; and one uncle, Walter LaPlante and his wife Betty of Plattsburgh; his first wife, Linda Cole Cane of Morrisonville; his father-in-law, Leslie Fountain of Plattsburgh; and a brother-in-law, John Fountain of Plattsburgh and his family.

His second wife, Linda Fountain Cane, died in 1992.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Dannemora United Methodist Church. Entombment will be in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens, Tom Miller Road.

Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Dialysis Unit at the CVPH Medical Center or the Dannemora Volunteer Fire Department.

Antoinette M. Gelineault

Plattsburgh — Mrs. Antoinette M. Gelineault, 81, of Smith Street, Plattsburgh, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2003, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Chazy, N.Y., on Oct. 14, 1921, the daughter of Joseph A. and Rose Alba (Hebert) Tetreault.

Antoinette enjoyed cooking and caring for friends and family. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125 Ladies Auxiliary and St. John's Church.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Rose Alba Tetreault; and a sister, Simone Juneau.

Antoinette is survived by her husband of 62 years, George H. Gelineault of Plattsburgh; two daughters, Judy Ann Rodish and her husband John of Buffalo, N.Y., and Linda Lee Burns and her husband Joe of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Maurice Tetreault and his wife Flore of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Roger Tetreault and his wife Ruby of Champlain and Joseph E. Tetreault and his wife Beatrice of Syracuse; a brother - in-law, Raymond Juneau of Champlain; her grandchildren, Denise Doyle and her husband Michael of Varysburg, N.Y., Lisa Abbott and her husband Cary of Newburg, N.Y., James Burns and his wife Melinda of Olive Branch, Miss., and John Rodish Jr. of Buffalo, N.Y.; six great - grandchildren, Austin, Michael, Amber, Alexis, Abigail and Cassie; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. from St. John's Church. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Clayton Corrow

Lawrenceville, Ga. — Clayton Corrow, 66, of Lawrenceville, Ga., died Sunday, April 13, 2003, at the Gwinett Medical Center in Georgia.

He was born in Redford, Town of Saranac, on Jan. 30, 1937, the son of John N. and Florence E. (Collins) Corrow.

He was a volunteer firefighter for a short time in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

He had been employed as a construction worker and worked at various hotels and restaurants in the upstate region.

He moved to Miami, Fla., in the 1960’s and worked for Allied Trucking Company for many years and retired to Atlanta, Ga., in October 2001.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas and Gerald Corrow, both of Lake Placid, N.Y.; two daughters, Carol (Blue) and Tammy Calvi, both of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Douglas Corrow of Tupper Lake; three sisters, Genavieve Hayes of Plattsburgh, Gloria Soucy of Tupper Lake and Elizebeth Jerome of Plattsburgh; nine grandchildren; one great - granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two wives, Joyce (Gates) Corrow and Dorthy (Georgia) Corrow; and two brothers, John Corrow of Lake Placid and Bernard Corrow of Saranac Lake.

A memorial service will be held on June 14th at 11 a.m. at the Assumption of Mary Cemetery in Redford, N.Y.

Kathyrn DeMar Blair

Essex, N.Y. — Kathyrn DeMar Blair, 92, of Essex, died at the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown, N.Y., on April 25, 2003.

She was born in Essex, N.Y., on Sept. 17, 1910, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Strong) Demar.

She is survived by a brother, Marcus DeMar; cousins Jane Perry, Gertrude Deso, Raymond Deso and Gorden Deso; and a longtime friend, James Z. Morgan Jr.

There are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.

The Huestis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Everett H. Zemkin, 83, of the Sand Road, Morrisonville, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in the Town of Root, N.Y., on July 16, 1919, the son of Alfred H. and Anna Bell (Palmateer) Zemkin.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 27, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on the Rand Hill Road in Morrisonville.

Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

Hazel Johnson, 87, of Jeanette Street, Danbury, Conn., died April 19, 2003, at the Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Conn.

She was born in Mooers on Sept. 1, 1915, the daughter of the late Wallace and Emma (Duffina) McDowell.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 26 at 1 p.m. at the Old Base Cemetery on the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements are with the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Paul E. Demers Jr., 54, of 342 Houndville Rd., Malone, N.Y., died April 25, 2003, at his home while under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc.

He was born in Malone on Jan. 8, 1949, the son of the late Paul and Antoinette (Begnoche) Demers Sr.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home Chapel in Malone.

Plattsburgh — Committal services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2003, at 9 a.m. at Mount Carmel Cemetery for Warren Holt and Gertrude Desmond.

Arrangements are by the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Raymond — A graveside service for Thomas Raymond, 54, of 8 Lynde St., who died Friday, April 18, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center was held on Friday, April 25, 2003, at St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Rev. John R. Yonkovig, officiated.

The R.W. Walker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
