Published: 04/24/03Betty L. WrightCROWN POINT — Betty L. Wright, 74, of Pearl Street, Crown Point, N.Y., died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at the Moses Ludington Hospital, Ticonderoga, N.Y. Betty was born in Ticonderoga, N.Y., on July 1, 1928, the daughter of Fletcher and Elizabeth (Keast) Lee. At the time of her death, she was Crown Point’s only Gold Star Mother. She was a member of the Eastern Stars, Crown Point, N.Y. Survivors include the following her husband, Johnny Wright; her son, H. David Schryer 3rd and wife Amy; her daughter, Kathleen Wright and husband Earl; four grandchildren, Matthew Whitford, Tammy Wicke, H. David Schryer IV and Logan Schryer; one great-granddaughter, Stacey Wicke. She was predeceased by the following, in addition to her parents; her husband, Howard D. (Pete) Schryer Jr.; her son, Lynn C. Whitford; her sister, Doris Schryer. Calling hours will be Friday, April 25, 2003, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, April 26, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Harland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Ironville Cemetery, Crown Point, N.Y. Myrtle Maude EllisROUSES POINT — Myrtle Maude Ellis went home to be with Jesus on Dec. 24, 2002. She was 91 years old and residing at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point, N.Y. Myrtle was born in Mooers, N.Y., on Oct. 1, 1911, and lived there all of her life. She is the daughter of Lyman G. Ellis of Mooers and Maggie Brown of Winchester, Ontario. A brother, Raymond G., and a sister, Eva K., both of Albany, survive her. A sister, Anna; a brother, Paul; Raymond's wife Irene; a grandson, Michael; and a great-grandson, George, died before her. Her longtime companion, Edythe Johnson of Champlain predeceased her in 1994. She is survived by her daughter, Thelma Duprat of Powell's Point, N.C.; four grandchildren, Bob, Linda, George and Joel; five great-grandchildren, Robert, Megan, Sara, Amanda and Raymond; and two great-great-granddaughters. She is also survived by her nephew, Dr. Roger G. Ellis and his wife, Claudia of Granville, N.Y., a grandniece Lisa; and nephew, Timothy. She was a housekeeper and prided herself in remembering birthdays and local history. She was a lifetime member of Mooers Wesleyan Church, which was started by her grandfather, George Washington Ellis. A "Celebration of the life of Myrtle" will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003, at the Mooers Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Mooers with a reception following in the church hall. The E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers is in charge of arrangements. Katherine A BarnabyCHAZY LAKE — Katherine M. "Tiny" Barnaby, 69, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at the Rockville General Hospital in Vernon, Conn. She was born in Poughkeepsie on Sept. 2, 1933, the daughter of Warren J. and Grace C. (Heinze) Marshall. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and spending time with her family. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Henry A. and Barbara Barnaby Jr. of Plattsburgh, Gary W. and Donna Barnaby of Chazy Lake, Timothy E. and Sharon Barnaby of South Windsor, Conn.; her companion, Raymond Marsh Sr. of Chicopee, Mass.; three brothers and a sister-in-law, David Marshall of East Granby, Conn., Walter Marshall of Fort Pierce, Fla., George and Patricia Marshall of Simsbury, Conn.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Virginia and Richard Mercier of East Granby, Conn., Barbara Houle of Carlisle, N.Y., Geraldine and LeRoy Morris of Mooers Forks; six grandchildren, Anita Brosius, Gary H. Barnaby, Matthew Barnaby, Rebecca (Barnaby) Wood, Wayne Barnaby and Crystal Barnaby; nine great-grand-children; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Her husband, Henry A. Barnaby Sr., died Aug. 14,1984. A brother, Warren "Skip" Marshall and a grandson, Mark Henry Barnaby, died earlier. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. from St Edmund’s Church in Ellenburg. Interment will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery in Altona. Evangeline D. BrownMORRISONVILLE — Evangeline D. Brown, 74, of Rand Hill Road, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at home with her family. She was born in Cadyville on Aug. 7. 1928, the daughter of James and Della (Manor) Guynup Sr. Mrs. Brown worked for Diamond International from 1972 to 1990. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Diana Hayes of Charlotte, Tenn.; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Linda Hayes of Morrisonville, Eva and Larry Pellerin of Saranac, Carol and Robert Launderville of Vacaville, Calif., Brenda and Thomas Olsen of Morrisonville and Rose Merrill of Plattsburgh; three stepsons, Michael and Liz Brown of West Chazy, George Brown of Schenectady and James Brown of Florida; one sister, Veronica Rushford and husband Carl of Chazy; 14 grandchildren, Lawrence Pellerin Jr., Eric Pellerin, Heather Brault, Bernard "Ben" Hayes, Ray Hayes Jr., Joshua Hayes, David Hayes, Elizabeth Hayes, Chadwick Olsen, Brianna Olsen, Corey Merrill, James Brown Jr., Jennifer Brown and Sam Brown; and four great-grandchildren, Carissa and Shawna Pellerin and Mathis and Madison Rose Hayes. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Brown in 2001; one son, Patrick Hayes; two daughters, Susan and Margaret Hayes; and one stepson, Richard Brown. There will be no public calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country. The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Vivian Aldridge, 72, of Pleasant Ridge Road, Plattsburgh, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Plattsburgh on April 5, 1931, daughter of the late Peter and Cora (Collins) Martineau. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 28, 2003, at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church in Treadwells Mills. Interment will follow in the St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Arrangements are with the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Lawrence E. Brunell, 79, of Route 9 North, Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Ingraham, N.Y.., on Feb. 6, 1924, the son of William and Lena (Brown) Brunell. Calling hours will be held Friday, April 25, 2003, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. PLATTSBURGH — Committal services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2003, at 9 a.m. at St. Peter's Cemetery for Albert Farbotko and Ethel Guynup. The arrangements are by the R.W.
