Constance C. Olcott

Ticonderoga — Constance C. Olcott, 79, of Summit Street, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Heritage Commons Residential Health Care of Ticonderoga.

She was born in Crown Point, Aug. 13, 1923, the daughter of the late Elbridge and Mazie (Bevins) Abbott.

Mrs. Olcott was a resident of Crown Point and Ticonderoga for most of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga. Through the years she was employed as a secretary at local businesses including Crown Point Central School, GLF of Crown Point and the Christmas Club of Ticonderoga.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Floyd W. Olcott; one daughter, Suzanne Dorgan of Glens Falls; one sister, Gloria Crossman of Ticonderoga; four brothers, Gerald Abbott of Ticonderoga, Lindell Abbott of Florida, David Abbott of Florida and Ronald Abbott of South Carolina.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will take place Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. The Rev. Paul L. Dufford Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate. Interment will take place at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga.

Eleanor J. Wilson

Lake Placid — Eleanor J. Wilson, of Mirror Lake Drive, Lake Placid, passed away Tuesday morning, April 1, 2003, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., May 30, 1920, the daughter of Horace and Eleanor (Warner) Whitehead.

Ellie spent most of her childhood years in Saranac Lake, N.Y., and graduated from the Saranac Lake High School.

When Paul Smiths College was founded in the 1940's, she was secretary for the president and board. She worked for Paul Smiths Electric Department and she was a business s partner with her husband Gordon C. Wilson from the time they started Wilson's Small Equipment in Keene, later becoming Wilson's Heavy Equipment in Plattsburgh.

Mr. Wilson predeceased her in 1995.

Ellie was a volunteer secretary for the Olympic Marketing Committee prior to the 1980 Winter Olympics. Eleanor also worked for the Lake Placid Club Timeshare and retired in 1998. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid, the American Cancer Society and an Honorary Member of the 24 Karat Club. She was a loving mother and a close friend to many people In the community.

Eleanor is survived by two daughters, Denise Wilson Bujold and her husband Wayne of Saranac Lake and Marcy Quinn and her husband Dennis of Rexford. She's also survived by one son, Stephen Wilson of Lake Placid; a brother-in-law, Joe Pete Wilson of Keene; and a sister-in-law Margaret Lamy of Rainbow Lake. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Sean and Shannon Quinn and Connor and Hunter Wilson; and a cousin, Joan Wilson of East Greenbush; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Thursday, April 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday April 4 at 10 a.m. at the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid. Reverend Mark Demers, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at the North Elba Cemetery.

Friends wishing to remember Ellie can make donations to the Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service or High Peaks Hospice in her memory.

Mildred G. Petrashune, 78, passed away peacefully at her home on the Standish Road, Lyon Mountain, on April 2, 2003, surrounded by her loving family and Hospice of the North Country.

She was born in Lyon Mountain on July 30, 1924, the daughter of Ray and Jenny (Ryan) Ducharme.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, April 4, 2003, at 11 a.m. in St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain with Msgr. Bernard Christman, officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Lyon Mountain.

A full obituary will be published in tomorrow's paper.

Arrangements are with the Chateaugay Funeral Home.

Barbara R. LaGrange, 88, of Bay Breeze Way, Westport, died Wednesday, April 02, 2003, at the Horace Nye Nursing Care Facility in Elizabethtown.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Westport.
