Published: 03/24/03Evelyn M. CollinsPLATTSBURGH — Evelyn M. Collins, 81, of Plattsburgh, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh. She was born in Ellenburg Center on Oct. 4, 1921, the daughter of Dolphus and Katherine (Bolia) Cook. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Treadwells Mill. She is survived by her husband, Patrick C. Collins of Plattsburgh; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Ona Rushford of Chateaugay; a daughter, Carol Spoor of Camarillo, Calif.; a sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Hubert Swink of Rochester; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A son, Billy Rushford; three daughters, Shirley Porter and her husband, Ernest, Anna Mae, and Geraldine Rushford; a brother, Millard Cook; a sister, Katherine Stone; and a son-in-law, Robert Spoor, died before her. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the O’Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday from St. Joseph’s Church in Treadwells Mill. Interment will follow in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Plattsburgh. FRANK S. VEIVIA, 91, of Mooers, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Arrangements were incomplete Sunday at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. ETHEL I. LaMOUNTAIN, 83, formerly of Westville, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena. Born in Burke on March 6, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (Hurteau) Chatelle. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Constable Protestant Cemetery later in the spring. Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service of Malone. Memorials may be made to Hospice of St. Lawrence County. |
