West Chazy — Henry "Joseph" Rivers, 86, of Seymour Road, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Dec. 23, 1916, son of Henry and Mary (Scott) Rivers.

Henry was a dairy farmer, working on the Daniels-Rivers farm in Beekmantown. He attended St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Henry was an avid fisherman.

Henry is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Thelma Rivers of West Chazy and Lawrence and Delores Rivers of West Chazy. Henry never had children of his own, but he was like a father and grandfather to many. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Thomas and Nancy Daniels, Annette and Chris Ferguson, Herbert and Sally Stacey, Dawn "Dolly" Pratt, Austin and Julia Jubert, Maude Daniels, Armand and Mary Ellen Daniels and Arthur and Anne Marie Daniels and many other nieces and nephews.

Henry was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Mary "Lucy" Daniels and her husband Joseph, with whom he operated the family farm; sisters Alice Turner, Lena Anangus, Pauline Corron, Frances Rougier, Florence Corron and Julia Elizabeth Daniels; and a brother, Raymond Rivers.

Calling hours will be Sunday, March 23, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, March 24, 2003, at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Burial will be later in the year in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

Sonia L. Howard, 41, of Harlan Drive, Cumberland Head, passed away Friday, March 21, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Plattsburgh on March 9, 1962, daughter of Robert Leonard and Merilda J. (Desotell) Duncan.

Calling hours will be Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. from Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Keefe, pastor of St. Mary's Church in Cumberland Head, officiating. Burial will be later in the year in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

Edward C. Hussey, 87, of Rouses Point, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point.
