Published: 03/17/03Evelyn M. LaphamPlattsburgh — Evelyn M. Lapham, 48, of Rugar Street, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Plattsburgh on Sept. 15, 1954, the daughter of Lloyd G. and Bernice M. (Reid) Lapham. Evelyn was a 1972 graduate of St. John's Academy; she had been employed by Ames Department Store in Champlain. She was an artist who enjoyed painting, drawing and crafts and she attended St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Evelyn is survived by her parents, Lloyd G. and Bernice M. Lapham of Plattsburgh; her companion, David N. Rock of Plattsburgh; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Arnold Lapham of Plattsburgh, Danny and Tammy Lapham of West Chazy and Richard Lapham of Plattsburgh; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be Monday, March 17, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. from St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Burial will be later in the year in St. Alexander's Cemetery in Morrisonville. Donations in her memory may be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Joseph "Joe" MartinPlattsburgh — Joseph "Joe" Martin, 48, of Military Turnpike, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 14, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh on Nov. 13, 1954, son of Harold S. and Catherine May (Collins) Martin. Joe is survived by his mother, Catherine M. Martin of Plattsburgh; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Harold "Sam" and Jennifer Martin of West Chazy, Alvin "Mucker" Martin of Plattsburgh and Gary Martin of Colchester, Vt.; a sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Gerald Spooner of West Chazy; and several nieces and nephews. Joe was loving son, brother and uncle. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and he loved to grow roses. Joe was predeceased by his father, Harold S. Martin; and a sister-in-law, Millie Martin. Calling hours will be Monday, March 17, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. from Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Monday evening at 8 p.m. from Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be later in the year in Treadwells Mills cemetery in Plattsburgh. George H. Perrotte, 75, formerly of Redford, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at his residence in Harbor City, Calif. Arrangements were incomplete Saturday evening at the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Bonnie Lee LaFave, 51, of Lake Street, Rouses Point, passed away Friday, March 14, 2003, at her home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point. Irving Abrams, 81, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center. A funeral service will be held Monday afternoon at Temple Beth Israel in Plattsburgh at a time to be announced. Arrangements will be announced in Monday's Press-Republican.
