Daniel A. Ross

LAKE GEORGE — Daniel A. Ross, 42, of Lake George, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, following a long illness.

Born in Ticonderoga on May 19, 1960, he was the son of Robert Ross of Crown Point and the late Geraldine Barror of New York.

An award-winning poet, Danny had a lifelong passion for drawing, art and music. He impressed all with his talent for expressing his spirituality and his love of nature and Native Americans in his paintings.

Danny’s artistic ability was also evident in his culinary skill, which he was able to express while working in several of the fine-dining establishments throughout the Lake George region.

Those fortunate to call Danny a friend knew he had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back. Danny’s relationship with the Lord was very strong. The Bible was an extension of himself, giving him the ability to answer any questions one might have about the Bible. Danny touched and inspired so many lives in the short time he was with us. It was his goal in life to share what he knew, learn what he didn’t know, and to do what he could to help other people.

He will be missed by all.

Besides his mother, Danny was also predeceased by his very special grandmother, Arlene "Pete" Barror of Ticonderoga.

In addition to his father, Dan is survived by two sons, Jeremy D. Ross, stationed in Warner Robins, Ga., and Nathan M. Ross of Lake George; three brothers, Gary Parot of Ticonderoga and Eric Thatcher and Darren Ross, both of Warrensburg; two sisters, Laurie Ross of Port Henry and Sandie Parot of Crown Point; his children’s mother and lifelong best friend, Donna Taylor of Lake George.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry.
