Rev. Timothy Martin Ladden

Tallahassee, Fla. — Rev. Timothy Martin Ladden, 76, died on Friday evening, Jan. 31, 2003, at Eden Brook, an assisted living care facility in Tallahassee, Fla.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Leo the Great Church in Lincroft, N.J., on Wednesday, Feb. 5th, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Middletown, N.J. Most Rev. Gerald M. Barbarito, Bishop of Ogdensburg, will celebrate a Memorial Mass for Father Ladden at St. Vincent of Paul Church in Cape Vincent, N.Y., on Thursday, March 6th, at noon.

Father Ladden was born in New York City on July 23, 1926, the son of the late Timothy and Mary (Gooley) Ladden. After receiving his early education at local schools, Father Ladden attended Maryknoll Apostolic College in Maryknoll, N.Y. He then attended Wadhams Hall Seminary in Ogdensburg, followed by theological studies at Mount St. Mary's Seminary at Emmitsburg, Md. On May 30, 1953, Father Ladden was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Bryan McEntegart at St. Mary's Cathedral in Ogdensburg, N.Y.

Upon his priestly ordination, Father Ladden was appointed assistant pastor at St. Mary's Cathedral in Ogdensburg. Father then served several parishes in the North Country as assistant pastor: St. James in Gouverneur, St. Mary's in Clayton, St. Mary's in Massena, St. Patrick's in Chateaugay and St. Brendan's in Keene. In 1967, Father Ladden was appointed pastor of Holy Cross in Hopkinton and St. Michael's in Parishville. In 1975, he became pastor of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Crown Point. In 1983, Father Ladden was appointed pastor of St. Vincent of Paul's Church in Cape Vincent. Five years later, he was also named administrator of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Rosiere.

Due to failing health, Father Ladden retired from active ministry in May 1997. At that time, he was named Pastor Emeritus of St. Vincent of Paul Church in Cape Vincent. Father resided with the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart upon his retirement until he moved to Florida to be with his family in August 2001.

Survivors include two nephews and a niece, Timothy and Mary Forrestall of Tallahassee, Fla., Edward Forrestall of Farmingdale, N.J., and Mary Ann Tanis of Lincroft, N.J.

Walter Andrews

Morrisonville — Mr. Walter Andrews, 86, of Brookside Avenue, passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Aug. 6, 1916, the son of Richard and Ellen (LaPlante) Andrews.

Walter had made his home in Plattsburgh and moved to Detroit, Mich., during World War II. He and his wife Marie returned to Plattsburgh where they operated Johnny's Diner on Broad Street. They returned to Detroit in 1953 where Walter was self employed as a tool and die maker at the Glendale Machine and Tool in Detroit, Mich. They retired to Morrisonville in 1978. Walter was a car buff and enjoyed taking drives throughout the North Country, hunting and eating candy.

He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Ellen Andrews; his wife, Marie E. Andrews, on May 18, 2000; and a brother, George Andrews.

He is survived by a son, Walter Geary Andrews and his wife Kaye of Folsom, Calif.; a daughter, Monica Dlugos and her husband Walter of West Bloomfield, Mich.; a sister, Mary Rabideau of Lake Placid; his grandchildren, Lisa, Carrie, Diana and Scott; ten great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Monday from 3 to 5:15 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 5:15 p.m. with the Rev. Floyd "Jerry" Bleaux, pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church, officiating.

Interment will be at a later date in St. Peter's Cemetery.
