Theresa L. Seymour

Morrisonville — Mrs. Theresa L. Seymour, 84, of Mason Street, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at her home with her family at her side.

She was born in Champlain, N.Y., on Dec. 27, 1918, the daughter of Warren and Eva (Brisson) LaRocque.

Theresa grew up in Clayton, N.Y., and Duncan, Okla., and had made her home in Morrisonville since 1933.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting.

She was a member of St. Alexander's Church Morrisonville.

Theresa was predeceased by her parents Warren and Eva LaRocque; two sisters, Alice and Leona; and a brother, Stewart.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald G. Seymour of Morrisonville; her son, David W. Seymour and his wife Judith of Morrisonville; a daughter, Brenda Jean "BJ" and her husband Floyd A. Rock of Morrisonville; five grandchildren; Darren Seymour, Todd Seymour, Sara Ann St. Louis, Bridget Ann Lavigne and Molly Jean Rock; ten great-grand-children; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church, Morrisonville.

Friends wishing may make donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, Tenn.

Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

June Filion

PLATTSBURGH — June Filion, of Dennis Avenue, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center.

Mrs. Filion was born in Chazy, the daughter of George and Josephine (Donais) Brushnefski.

She graduated from Chazy Central Rural School and then worked at various jobs, including, assistant manager of Mays, in the North Country Shopping Center, the Outlet Barn and Bass Shoes. She later worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Filion Enterprises.

Mrs. Filion was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church where she often did volunteer work and was an active member of the Regina Mania Retreat League.

She is survived by her husband, Harvey Filion; one son, Jeffrey Filion of Chazy; one daughter, Toni Trost of Plattsburgh; one sister, Louise Brushnefski of Chazy; one granddaughter, Sasha Filion of Plattsburgh; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Beatrice Brushnefski of Chazy; and several nieces and nephews, especially, Sandra Duquette of Chazy and Natasha and Isabelle Cucinella of Massachusetts.

One brother, Joseph Brushnefski; and three sisters, Anne Frenya, Penny Brushnefski and Barbara MacCallum, all died earlier.

There will be no public calling hours. A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Chazy in the spring.

Donations, in her memory, may be made to the Our Lady of Victory Church Memorial Fund.

The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Margaret H. Looby

Churubusco — Margaret Looby passed away in Deland, Fla., on Dec. 20, 2002, after a brief illness.

She had lived in Deland since 1992. She was born in Churubusco in 1922, the only child of T. Bernard Looby and Nellie Dwyer Looby.

She lived in Churubusco for the first several decades of her life and in Chateaugay in later years.

She attended elementary school in Churubusco and graduated from St. Joseph's Catholic High School in Malone. She was a homemaker.

She was a communicant of St. Philomena's Catholic Church in Churubusco in her childhood years and of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Chateaugay in later years. In Deland she attended daily Mass at St. Peter's Catholic Church. She was devoted to her faith.

In Deland she served as a volunteer tutor to disadvantaged youth.

Miss Looby is a granddaughter of William Looby and Margaret McCabe Looby of Churubusco and of David Dwyer and Ellen Sheehan Dwyer of Chateaugay.

Margaret was known to her several cousins and many friends in the North Country as an avid writer of detailed letters; as one who showed deep concern for the problems of others; as a person who was good company and possessed of a ready sense of humor, a person with a near perfect memory for people and events long ago; a citizen knowledgeable and interested in public affairs; and as one who loved the North Country and the people of Churubusco and Chateaugay.

A memorial Mass will be said by Rev. Howard McCasland, in the Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Churubusco on Saturday, May 10, 2003 at 11 a.m. after which her ashes will be interred beside her mother and father in the Catholic Cemetery in Churubusco. May she rest in peace.

Local arrangements were with the Chateaugay Funeral Home.

LeRoy G. Smith, 75, of Putnam Station, Putnam, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at

the CVPH Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born in Ticonderoga on July 12, 1927, the son of LeRoy A. and Carrie (Crocker) Smith.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the Connery & Gunning Funeral Home in Ticonderoga at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003. Burial will be in the Chilson Cemetery in Ticonderoga in the spring.

Philip C. Hadley, 64, of Irish Settlement Road, Plattsburgh, died on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington, Vt.

He was born in Vermont on Nov. 5, 1938, son of Morris Charles and Inez (Gui) Hadley.

Calling hours will be Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Doris Jean Eldred, 70, of Plattsburgh, died on Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

There will be a graveside service in Treadwells Mills Cemetery later in the year.

Arrangements by Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Cynthia Palmer, 59, of St. Jean Quebec, formally of Champlain, died on Friday, Jan. 24, 2003.

She was the daughter of Orville Palmer and the late Simone Palmer.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
