Published: 01/22/03Electa H. LaClairEllenburg Center — Electa H. LaClair, 88, of Ellenburg Center, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh. She was born in Ellenburg, on June 26, 1914, the daughter of John and Nellie (Pelkey) Whalen. She was employed at Diamond International in Plattsburgh until her retirement in 1979 and then became an Avon representative until 1991. She is survived by a son, Darwin LaClair of Chateaugay; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vedora and John Bielat of Plattsburgh, Faye and Loyal Gregory of Ellenburg Center and Anice and Bernard Lamora of Morrisonville; a sister, Vedora Maloney of Chateaugay; two sisters-in-law, Ula Smith of ElIenburg, Odile LeClair of Churubusco; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband, Lawrence; two sons, Lloyd and Nyle; a daughter, Mary; and a sister, Fern Engel, all died before her. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2:30 to 4:45 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 5 p.m. Friday from St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg. Interment will be in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Ellenburg Depot. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Edmund’s Church Window Fund. Rita L. BeaudoinPLATTSBURGH — Rita L. Beaudoin, 80, of 7 Chantecler Court., Plattsburgh, died Monday evening at the CVPH medical Center in Plattsburgh. She died of complications related to her 20 year battle with breast cancer. Born in Redford, N.Y., the eighth child of Frank and Emma (Bouvier) St. Clair. She married Glendon W. Beaudoin on May 7, 1940. He predeceased her in Dec. 25, 1980. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her seven bothers and sisters and her daughter, Patricia. She worked at the Witherall Hotel and Meron’s Restaurant for many years. She is survived by her son, Michael P. Beaudoin and his wife Gayle; her grandchildren, Adam and Paige of Schencetady, N.Y.; and over 20 nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Treadwells Mills Saturday at 11 a.m. Donations in her memory may be made to the local public television station, WCFE-TV 57. James R. Conners, 69, a resident of the Franklin County Nursing Home in Malone, formerly of Chasm Falls, N.Y., died Monday evening, Jan. 20, 2003, at the nursing home where he had resided since 1985. He was born in Malone, N.Y., on April 2, 1933, the son of the late William and Rosalie (Bourcier) Conners. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at 10 a.m. in St. Helen’s Church, Chasm Falls. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyeys Funeral Service of Malone. Rachel M. Gardiner, 87, of the Brainardsville Road, Malone, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, where she had been a patient since January 16, 2003. She was born in Belmont, N.Y., on Feb. 2, 1915, the daughter of the late Edward and Ida (Gordon) Beach. Calling hours will be in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. |
