Elliot Franklin (Ike) Heald

Moriah, N.Y. — Elliot Franklin (Ike) Heald, 82, of Ensign Pond Road, Moriah, N.Y., died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh, N.Y.

He was born on Nov. 19, 1920, at Keene Valley, N.Y., the son of Frank and Julia (Southmayd) Heald.

Ike worked at Republic Steel Corp. in Mineville and also worked as a carpenter and a dairy farmer.

He was a veteran of World War II, a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force, serving in the Pacific Theater.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Julia Heald; his sons, Frank Heald and his wife Mary of Westport, John Heald and his wife Marlene of Moriah and Thomas Heald and his wife Belinda of Moriah Center; his grandchildren, Amy Heald of Essex Junction, Vt., Ann Heald and her companion William Palmer of Essex, N.Y., Gabriel Heald and his wife Jolene of Lewis, Nathan Heald, Noah Heald, Joshua Heald and Zackary Heald of Moriah and William Heald, Matthew Heald and Christopher Heald of Moriah Center; and one great-granddaughter, Zoie Heald.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Robert, Jay, Philip, Calvin and David.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 6, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Church of All Saints, Mineville, N.Y., with the Rev. Michael Toth officiating. Burial in the spring will be in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Moriah N.Y.

Donations may be made to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad or the Dialysis Unit at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital, Elizabethtown, N.Y.

Harry W. Landry Sr.

Rouses Point — Harry W. Landry Sr., 80, of Rouses Point, passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 2002, at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point.

He was born at home in Rouses Point on June 25, 1922, son of the late Harry and Alice (Rochester) Landry.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, during which time he toured the Pacific Islands.

He was employed as a yard clerk for the D&H Railroad in Rouses Point for 45 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 912 and the Rouses Point Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He enjoyed baseball, a good joke, telling stories and spending time with his grandchildren. He also always had a nickname for everyone he knew well.

Survivors include two sons, Harry W. Landry Jr., and his fiancée, Karen Scotch of Rouses Point and Mel Morris of White Pigeon, Mich.; one daughter, Linda Phipps of Maldon, Mass.; a sister, Theresa Beyerl of Fort Meyers, Fla.; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Marie Landry; a daughter, Tracy Lee Landry Hampton; and an infant son, Scott Landry.

There will be no calling hours. A service and burial will be held later in the year at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Rouses Point.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rouses Point Rescue Squad.

Arrangements are with the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point.

Arthur W. Tucker, 71, of County Route 36, Burke, N.Y., died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y. He had been a patient there since Dec. 29, 2002.

He was born in Burke on Sept. 3, 1931, the son of the late Amos and Anna (Stowe) Tucker Sr.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Eleanor Bellows officiating. Burial will be in St. George's Cemetery in Burke in the spring.

Charles Zmitrovitch, 93, of Plattsburgh, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Lyon Mountain on April 8, 1909, the son of John and Josephine Zmitrovitch.

There will be no calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Ellenburg Depot.

The O'Neill - Redden - Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh is in charge of arrangements.

Lumina Florence LeClair, 87, of the Blanche Road, Merrill, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh, N.Y.

She was born in Canada on April 17, 1915, the daughter of Bazil and Florence (Ezrow) Patenaude.

Calling hours were held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Friday. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4th, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, with Rev. Howard McCasland officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Immaculate Heart Cemetery, Churubusco.
