Published: 12/31/02Donald L. FrenyaPlattsburgh — Donald L. Frenya, 44, of 22 Smith Street, Plattsburgh passed away on Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on Oct. 13, 1958, son of Howard and Hilda Anne (Brushnefski) Frenya. Donald attended Beekmantown Central School and was employed at Mold-Rite Plastics, Inc., in Plattsburgh N.Y. Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Carrie Frenya of Morrisonville N.Y., Howard and Wanda Frenya of Williamstown Pa., and special friends, Tim and Dorie Rivers and family of Plattsburgh, N.Y. He collected coins, baseball cards and was an avid NASCAR fan. Donald also enjoyed spending time with his many friends. His mother died in April of 1970 and his father in June 2002. Calling hours will be Thursday, Jan. 2, 2002 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A brief service will be held at 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh is in charge of arrangements. Donations in his memory may be made to American Heart Association, 21 Plattsburgh Plaza, Plattsburgh NY 12901 Bernice "Susie Johnson" JaramilloCHAMPLAIN, NY / San Antonio, Texas — Bernice "Susie Johnson" Jaramillo, age 62, passed away Wednesday Dec. 11, 2002. Susie enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone as she enjoyed visiting with friends. She also enjoyed crafts and crocheting. She was a compassionate and loving woman who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert W. Johnson and Alice E. Bruette and brother, Lawrence Johnson. She is survived by her brothers, Herbert and Doris of Round Lake, N.Y., Bernard and Barbara of Hartly. Del., Richard and Rita of Morrisonville, N.Y., John and Jean of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Gerald and Teresa of Moores, N.Y., and William of Champlain. N.Y.; sister-in-law, Cora of Altona, N.Y.; 22 nieces and nephews; 33 great-niece and nephews; and a host of loving and caring close friends. Visitation was held 3 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, with a 6 p.m. prayer service that was held at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Funeral Service were conducted 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Interment followed at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. William Maurice ProvonchaTiconderoga — William Maurice Provoncha, 68, of St. Cloud, Florida and formerly of Ticonderoga, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at his residence. He was born in Ticonderoga, Sept. 3, 1934, the son of the late Frederick L. and Laura (Denesha) Provoncha. Mr. Provoncha was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp., having served during the Korean War. He lived in Ticonderoga for most of his life before moving to Florida in 1969. He was employed as a plumber for most of his life, locally in Ticonderoga, for his brother, Fred Provoncha Plumbing & Heating. He was also employed by International Paper Company of Ticonderoga. Mr. Provoncha was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and antique collector. He was predeceased by one son, Michael Provoncha; and by two brothers, Frederick Provoncha and Melvin Provoncha. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen (Keith) Provoncha; two sons, James Provoncha of Stuyvesant, N.Y., and William Provoncha Jr. of St. Cloud, Fla.; seven daughters, Judith Munson of Stuyvesant, N.Y., Debra Weber of Lake City, Fla., Pamela Sanders of St. Cloud, Fla., Sheri Branning of Chancellor, Ala., Penny Stanley of Traverse City, Mich., Kelly Boone of Cocoa, Fla., and Amy Provoncha of St. Cloud, Fla., two brothers, Norman Provoncha of Crown Point, N.Y., and Thomas Provoncha of Ticonderoga, N.Y.; and two sisters, Ann Streeter of Morrisonville, N.Y., and Marguerite (Peg) Tofte of Cherrill, N.Y. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in Florida. A graveside service will take place in the spring with military honors at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga at a time to be announced. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, Ticonderoga. Floyd BarcombALTONA — Floyd Barcomb, 89, of Twin Oaks Senior Housing, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Mooers Forks, N.Y. on Jan. 6, 1913, the son of Walter and Corine (Favreau) Barcomb. Floyd married Gertrude Snide, on Feb. 8, 1937, at St. Ann’s Church with Msgr. A.J. Gilbert officiating, Gertrude died in 1998. He was a member of Holy Angel’s Church. Mr. Barcomb was an avid bingo player. He loved living at Twin Oaks Senior Housing and visits from his family. Survivors include two daughters and their spouses, Noella and Howard Chauvin of West Chazy and Sandy and Ken Duffy of Rouses Point; one son-in-law, Stanley Seymour of West Chazy; one sister, Albertine Duprey of Massena; nine grandchildren, Joseph Seymour and his companion, Lynn, Rev. Scott Seymour, Jim and Carol Chauvin, Jeff and Marla Chauvin, Julie and Kevin Bulris, Jason Chauvin, Mike and Joddie Duffy, Mark and Amiee Duffy and Steven Barcomb; 12 great-grandchildren; many brothers and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Hector Barcomb; a daughter, Loretta Seymour; a grandson, Stephen Seymour; and one brother, Homer Barcomb. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy. Memorial donations may be made to the Altona Rescue Squad. Patricia A. Figart, 68, of Russell Barnard Apartments, Plattsburgh, died on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Plattsburgh on March 17, 1934, daughter of Eugene and Elizabeth Champagne. There will be no calling hours or funeral services in accordance with her wishes. Arrangements with Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Cora Grenier, 91, formerly of Flynn Avenue in Plattsburgh, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002 at the Nyack Manor Nursing Home in Nyack, N.Y. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Elizabeth C. Ornstedt, 101, of the Alice Hyde Nursing Home, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at that facility. She was born Nov. 17, 1901, in Bellmont, N.Y., the daughter of Patrick and Mary Jane (King) Coughlin. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, at 12 noon in Notre Dame Church. Spring burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Chateaugay, N.Y.
