Published 12/30/01Fern P. Huskie Saratoga Springs — Fern P. Huskie, of Kirby Road, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at the Saratoga Hospital. She was 66. She was born on Feb. 25, 1935, in Albany, the daughter of the late Clifford and Edna (Longto) Packard and was raised in Plattsburgh by her grandmother, Fern Longto. She attended Plattsburgh High School and was a member, vice-president and past president of the Queensbury and Moreau Senior Citizens Centers. She worked as a medical receptionist for area medical services, including Saratoga Medical Associates, for many years. She enjoyed her family and traveling and was predeceased by a sister, Diane LaBombard. She and her husband had resided in Peru and Plattsburgh, N.Y., for many years. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John "Jack" M. Huskie, whom she married Dec. 1, 1951; her children, Michael Huskie of Indian Lake, N.Y., Tom Huskie of Las Vegas, Nev., Richard Huskie of Ballston Spa, Mrs. William (Patti) Ramsey of Gansevoort and John E. Huskie of Ballston Lake, N.Y.; two sisters, Marjorie Rousell of Florida and Sandy Salway of Cohoes; one stepsister and brother, Mariann and Raymond O'Neill of Florida; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373). Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home by the Rev. John Weyand, pastor of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville. Memorials maybe made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Cornelius P. Bremner PLATTSBURGH — Cornelius P. Bremner, 96, of Brinkerhoff Street, and formerly of Corona, N.Y., died Saturday morning, Dec. 29, 2001, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born on May 1, 1905, in Jersey City, N.J., the son of William and Elizabeth (Sthye) Bremner. Mr. Bremner married the former Juliette Pittelli in Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Corona in 1926. She died in 1955. At the time that he started working, and for many years after, he was the only licensed crane operator for ConEdison in New York City. He worked there most of his life, retiring in 1970. He moved to Plattsburgh in 1989 to live with his daughter Dolores. Survivors include his daughter, Dolores Harris and her husband Donald of Plattsburgh; one sister, Dorothy Turbefill and her husband Edwin of Great Neck, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Donald "Tad" Harris of Plattsburgh, Kim Hanley and her husband Michael of West Chazy, Gregory Harris and his wife Patricia of Seattle, Wash., Juliette Cleland and her husband Lonnie of Plattsburgh, Keith Harris and his wife Katie of Massachusetts and Jonathan Harris of Chesapeake, Va.; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, one sister and one grandson. There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in the spring. Donations may be made to St. Peter's Church Building Fund in his memory. Karen A. Woods, 38, of Ridgewood Drive, West Palm Beach, Fla., formerly of Malone, died unexpectedly Dec. 28, 2001, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Center in Burlington, Vt., after being transferred from the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. She was born in Malone on Dec. 29, 1962, the daughter of Charles K. and Carol J. (Clark) LaFluer. There are no calling hours. A funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home Chapel in Malone, with the Rev. Neil McClain officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Thelma Buskey, 76, of Howard Road, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. Calling hours will be Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Altona. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at 10 a.m. from St. Louis de France Church in Sciota. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
