Janet V. Forsythe
PLATTSBURGH - Janet V. Forsythe, 60, of 18 Patriot Drive, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center following an auto-mobile accident.
Mrs. Forsythe was born in Derby, Conn., on March 8, 1942, the daughter of Frederick J. and Agatha (Cummings) Smith. She married the Rev. James E. Forsythe at the Assembly of God Church in Nauga-tuck, Conn., in 1979.
Mrs. Forsythe was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Plattsburgh. She was a very accomplished artist and was a member of the Paint and Pallet Club in Saranac Lake.
Mrs. Forsythe grew up and attended high school in Orange, Conn. She completed her undergraduate studies at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Conn., in 1963. She received her master's degree in po-litical science from Boston College in 1967 and later her master's de-gree in psychology from the University of New Haven.
Mrs. Forsythe taught political science at several New England univer-sities and more recently at North Country Community College in Sara-nac Lake. She loved teaching children and for the past seven years she was an elementary-school teacher at New Life Christian Academy in Plattsburgh.
Surviving family include her husband, the Rev. James E. Forsythe; one son, Matthew Sante and his wife, Dawn, of Forest Hills, N.Y.; two brothers, Fred Smith and his wife, Kathryn, of Woodbridge, Conn. and William Smith and his wife, Nancy, of Estero, Fla.; three nieces and one nephew.
Mrs. Forsythe was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by her fam-ily and her community.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in the Saranac Independent Cemetery in the spring.

Marlene Jean Kissane Ferguson
LAS CRUSES, N.M. - Marlene Jean Kissane Ferguson, 70, formerly of Malone, died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, in Las Cruses, N.M.
Born in Chateaugay on Aug. 7, 1932, she was a daughter of Roy S. and Ida I. (Beach) Whitehead.
Mrs. Ferguson graduated from Chateaugay Central High School and St. Lawrence University. She was employed as a professional regis-tered nurse throughout her working career and was involved in many community organizations. A member of the First Congregational Church of Malone, Mrs. Ferguson was also a member of the Eastern Star and in New Mexico was an active member of the Association of the Univer-sity of Women.
She married the Rev. Bruce Ferguson on March 5, 1995, who sur-vives. She was predeceased by a former husband, Dr. M. Marshall Kis-sane, in 1982. Her first marriage was to Thomas E. Mitchell Sr. in 1951.
Mrs. Ferguson was a loving and devoted mother to her children. Sur-viving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Mitchell Jr. and his wife, Robin, of Chazy, and John W. Kissane and his wife, Marlene, of Malone; a daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Kevin (Marsha) Twiss of Ash-burn, Va.; step-children Col. Johnathan Kissane and his wife, Kathi, of Maryland, and Jennifer Kissane Campbell of California, Malcolm Ferguson of Pittsburgh, Pa., Miles Ferguson of Boston, Mass., and Mark Ferguson of Rochester, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mrs. Jane Aubrey of Englewood, Fla., and Mrs. Everett (Donna) Johnston of Burke; two brothers, David Whitehead of Englewood, Fla., and J.B. Whitehead of Hampton Falls, N.H.; several nieces and nephews and many other wonderful relatives. She was predeceased by her parents and two daughters, Catherine Mitchell Walfield and Jayne Marlene Kissane.
Time and date for the calling hours will be announced later, and a pri-vate memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Malone Callfiremen, the First Congregational Church or the American Diabetes Association.
Funeral arrangements are with the Spaulding Funeral Home of Malone.
Norman E. Davison
MOOERS FORKS - Norman E. Davison, 94, of Bush Road, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at his residence.
He was born in Mooers Forks on Aug. 22, 1908, the son of Sam and Mary (Sartwell) Davison.
Mr. Davison was a dairy farmer all his life and was a member of the Mooers United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Leona (Lafountain) Davison of Mooers Forks; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Marcia Davison of Mooers Forks; three daughters and a son-in-law, Maria and Kenneth Foster of Rouses Point, Elizabeth Davi-son of Rouses Point and Catherine Donaldson-Brewster of Plattsburgh; a sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Carl Anderson of Fayetteville, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Betty Davison; four brothers, Casper, Preston, Eldon and Ralph, who was killed in action during World War I; two sisters, Stella Hitchcock and Olive Ellerton; and a grandson, David Lee Brewster, all died earlier.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Al Johnson offici-ating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Mooers Forks in the spring.
Sondra A. Reeves
PLATTSBURGH - Sondra A. Reeves, 65, of U.S. Avenue, died in the presence of her husband and children on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Plattsburgh on May 1, 1937, the daughter of John H. and Alfarata M. (Cutler) Devins.
Sondra was a homemaker who devoted all her time to her husband, children and grandchildren.
Sondra is survived by her husband of 46 years, Wayne J. Reeves of Plattsburgh; three daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal and Dennis Tay-lor of Plattsburgh, Trudy and Dale Trim of Morrisonville and Rhonda and Scott Harris of Schuyler Falls; five grandchildren, Tiffany Taylor, Dale Trim Jr., Christina Trim, Natasha Harris and Casondra Harris; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Herman Rock of Morrisonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Sondra was predeceased by a granddaughter, Tara Trim.
Calling hours and funeral services will be private for the family only. Burial will be next year in Evergreen Cemetery in Keeseville.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
Arrangements are with Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
ADELINE I. McCABE, 93, formerly of Maple Street, Constable, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at the Franklin County Nursing Home where she had been a patient since March 1998.
