Published: 12/22/02Robert P. DickinsonPeru — Robert P. Dickinson, 73, of North Bend Street, Peru, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Whitehall, June 9, 1929, the son of Robert R. and Eleanor A. (Peasley) Dickinson. He married Patricia M. Howes, April 4,1953, in London, England. She was the daughter of Henry J. and Maude Anne (O'Brien) Howes. Mr. Dickinson was a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1975. He was medically retired, June 19, 1975, with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant, Medical Administrative Superintendent. He served in Korea, Europe, and South East Asia. Mr. Dickinson graduated from Ticonderoga High School, Clinton Community College, in 1978, with an associate degree in Business and from Plattsburgh State University in 1980 with a bachelor of Science. Also many military schools and courses. He was a member of the Mt. Defiance Lodge 3794 Free and Accepted Masons in Ticonderoga, and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasons, 32 degree, Valley of Troy and Valley of Albany. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. A member of the Berkshire Family History and Genealogy Association, in Pittsfield, Mass., the Genealogical Society of Vermont, The New Hampshire Historical Society, Concord N.H., the Northern New York American Canadian Genealogical Society, Plattsburgh, the New England Historic Genealogical Society, Boston, Mass., and the Dickinson Association, Amherst, Mass. Survivors include his wife, Patricia M. Dickinson of Peru; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert S. and Kathleen Dickinson of Virginia Beach, Va., Richard T. Dickinson of San Bernardino, Calif., and Jeff and Jean Dickinson of Peru; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Stanley Dickinson of Hague and Bill and Marian Dickinson of Peru; seven grandchildren, Serena, Nick, Jayson, John, Taylor, Jillena and David; two great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Parker, pastor of the Peru Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the God's Acre Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Peru Rescue Squad. Lillus BlanchardJAY — Lillus Blanchard, 84, of Route 9N Jay, died Friday evening, Dec. 20, 2002 at the Adirondack Medical Center, Saranac Lake. She had been a patient there since Dec. 2, 2002. She was born Aug. 23, 1918, in Wilmington, the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Smith) Green. She enjoyed being a homemaker, playing bingo, crocheting, word puzzles, traveling different places with her daughter Joan and other family members. She was the best mom and grandmother in the world. She also enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and making delicious rolls. Lillus is survived by her daughter, Joan Pray of Jay; a son, Scott Ferris of Beekmantown; four grandchildren, Bert and Joyce Pray of Wilmington, Brian and Tina Pray of Jay, Amy and Howard Drake Sr. of AuSable Forks, James Pray and his companion, Brenda Woodring of Harkness; and 12 great-grandchildren. Those that predeceased her were her husband, Carl Blanchard; a son-in-law, Bert Pray; several sisters; and a special companion, Robert Reich. Calling hours will be Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home, AuSable Forks. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Marty Gilbert, pastor of the Whiteface Community United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow the service in the family plot in Jay Central Cemetery, Jay. Mr. Real BourdonPlattsburgh — Mr. Real Bourdon, 81, of Boynton Ave., Plattsburgh passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at his home. He was born in St. Chrysostome, Quebec, on March 1, 1921, the son of Cyprien and Celina (Deneault) Bourdon. Real was a self employed contractor and developer. He was predeceased by his wife, Yvette Bourdon on Feb. 21, 2002; his parents, Cyprien and Celina Bourdon; his brothers, Victor Bourdon and Armand Bourdon; and a sister, Irene LaMontagne. Real is survived by two brothers, Wilfred Bourdon and his wife Giselle of Chateauguay, Quebec, and Rodolphe Bourdon and his wife Marceline of St. Timothe, Quebec; three sisters, Clara Premore of Plattsburgh, Marie King of Verdun, Quebec, and Laurette Berthiaume of St. Emile, Quebec; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 2:30 p.m. from St. John's Church, Plattsburgh. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in LaColle, Quebec. Friends wishing may make donations to Hospice of the North Country. Elizabeth StuartTICONDEROGA — Elizabeth Stuart, 36, of Putts Pond Road, Ticonderoga, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at her home. She was born on June 5, 1966, at Freeport, Long Island, N.Y., the daughter of Walter and Joan Stuart. A long time resident of Crown Point, she attended North Country Community College. She had been employed by Families First, Elizabethtown. Elizabeth was a member of The Traumatic Brain Injury Association. She is survived by her daughter, Krystal Stuart of Ticonderoga; her father, Walter Stuart, Crown Point; her mother, Joan Stuart, Long Island; a granddaughter, Kya Stuart, Ticonderoga; paternal grandparents, Walter and Mildred Stuart, Long Island; a sister, Laura Columbo, Virginia Beach, Va. There will be a graveside service at the Fairview Cemetery, Crown Point, at a date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her family. The Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry, N.Y. is in charge of arrangements Bruce E. StilesADAMS CENTER — Bruce E. Stiles, 71, formerly of 14482 North Street, died Friday morning at Hallmark Nursing Centre, Carthage, where he had been a resident since July, 27, 2001. Mr. Stiles served as a state trooper with the New York State Police in the Lake Champlain and Albany areas, retiring in 1982, when he moved to Adams Center. He was born Dec. 19, 1931, in Beaver Falls, son of Edward and Mary (Briggs) Stiles. He graduated from beaver Falls High School and worked for J.P. Lewis Paper Co. In 1952, he was drafted into the Army and served in Korea as an infantryman and later in the Signal Corps, until his discharge in 1954. He married Betty Finnegan in 1957. She died July 17, 1960. He was a member of American Legion Don Rounds Post 596 and the South Jefferson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5344, both of Adams. Surviving are a son, Michael E. Barnes Corners; a daughter and her husband, Karen and Michael O’Brien, Rouses Point; his mother, Connie Ramos, Watertown; a grandson; and four nieces. There will be no funeral or calling hours. The body was cremated. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. Donations may be made to South Jefferson Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 126, Adams, NY 13605 Janet V. Forsythe, 60, of 18 Patriot Drive, Plattsburgh, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center, following an automobile accident.
