Priscilla Belmore

AuSable Forks — Priscilla Belmore died in the Keene Valley Neighborhood House at the age of 93.

She was born Feb. 22, 1909, in AuSable Forks, the daughter of James and Hattie (Maple) Williams.

She graduated from Plattsburgh Normal School and was a teacher for 39 years, all but two years in the AuSable Forks School System.

She was a member of the AuSable Forks United Methodist Church and New York State Retired Teachers Association.

Her hobbies were reading, bridge, sports on TV and water color painting.

She attended Plattsburgh School of Art and was an honorary and active member of Mt. Artists of New York for many years.

Priscilla is survived by a brother and his wife, (Ret.) Col. John R. and Jeanne Williams of Tallahassee, Fla.; a brother-in-law, (Ret.) Col. E.F. Elliott of Melbourne, Fla.; a nephew and his wife, James and Judy Williams of AuSable Forks and their children, J. Paul Williams and Rebecca and Craig Douglas; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth (Pete) Belmore; a sister, Mary Elliott; a brother and his wife, Paul and Millie Williams; and nieces, Cynthia Williams and Susan W. Kenyon.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Fairview Cemetery, AuSable Forks.

Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the AuSable Forks United Methodist Church or AuSable Forks Free Library.

Robert James (Eggy) Alkinburgh

Ticonderoga — Robert James (Eggy) Alkinburgh, 31, of Village Lane, Ticonderoga, passed away suddenly, Monday, Dec. 9, 2002.

He was born in Schenectady, June 18, 1971, the son of the late Delbert J. Alkinburgh Sr. and Edna (Hill) Quesnel of Ticonderoga.

Mr. Alkinburgh was a resident of Ticonderoga for most of his life. He was a graduate of Ticonderoga High School, Class of 1989.

He was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation in Schroon Lake.

Mr. Alkinburgh was a member of the Ticonderoga Fire Department serving as 2nd Assistant Chief and was a member of the department's Dive Team.

He was an avid hunter.

He is survived by his wife, Heather A. (Pockett) Alkinburgh; two daughters, Avery Alkinburgh and Karyssa Alkinburgh, both of Ticonderoga; his mother, Edna (Hill) Quesnel of Ticonderoga; his maternal grandmother, Pauline Hill of Ticonderoga; three brothers, Delbert John (D.J.) Alkinburgh Jr. of Ticonderoga, Travis Michael Alkinburgh of West Allis, Wis., and Ricky Alkinburgh of Scotia; his stepfather, Douglas Quesnel and his wife Cynthia (Brannock) Quesnel of Ticonderoga. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. The Rev. William G. Muench, pastor, will officiate.

The Rite of Committal will take place in the Spring.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Ticonderoga Fire Department, Montcalm Street, Ticonderoga, N.Y. 12883.

Lawrence Henry "Buster" LaFave

Mooers — Lawrence Henry "Buster" LaFave, 68, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point.

He was born in Mooers on Aug. 23, 1934, the son of Henry and Clara (Rabideau) LaFave.

He was employed as a truck driver for Clinton County Highway Department for 35 years until he retired in 1983.

Survivors include his wife, the former Valena "Lillian" LaValley of Rouse Point; a daughter, Linda C. Provost of Jericho, N.Y.; two sisters and their husbands, Ruby and Roger Tetreault of Champlain and Pat and Gregory LaFave of Keeseville; a sister-in-law and four brothers-in-law, Alfred and Myrtle Ladue, Homer LaValley, Louis LaValley and Roger Garrand; three grandchildren, Tina Peryea of Altona, Tammy Warren of Ellenburg Depot and Lee Provost of Ellenburg Center; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Three sisters, Hazel Duffina, Ella Whitis and Evelyn Garrand; and a brother, Francis LaFave, died before her.

Calling hours will be Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, from 3 to 7 p.m. at E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday Dec. 13, 2002, at 10 a.m. from St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. Burial will be in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Ellenburg Depot.

Albert J. LaTour

PLATTSBURGH — Albert J. LaTour, 76, of Bailey Avenue, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh on March 8, 1926, the son of Herbert and Theresa (Bashaw) LaTour.

Albert was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the Central Europe and Rhineland campaigns.

On June 14, 1974, he married the former Elaine D. LaPoint at the United Methodist Church in Plattsburgh.

Albert worked at the Imperial Paper Co. for 28 years and then as a truck driver for George LaValley, an independent U.S. Mail contractor.

He was a member of St. Peter's Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine of Plattsburgh; one son, Calvin and Pam LaTour of Murrieta, Calif., two daughters and one son-in-law, Dina Blackmon of Ontario, Calif., and Dian and John Penrose of Visalia, Calif.; one brother, Donald LaTour of Plattsburgh; one sister, Doris Graham of West Palm Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents and one daughter, Alice LaTour Arnold.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery in the spring.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association of Northeastern New York.

Alice M. Robare

PLATTSBURGH — Alice M. Robare, 94, formerly of the Parker Road in West Chazy died Tuesday morning, Dec. 10, 2002, at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home.

Mrs. Robare was born in Morrisonville on March 14, 1908, the daughter of Philip and Julia (Rabideau) Terrier.

She married Herbert Robare at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville on July 11, 1929, he died in 1976.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy.

Survivors include one nephew, James Leggett of Rouses Point; two nieces, Sandra Titus and her husband, Richard of Plattsburgh and Betty Leggett of Mooers; one grandnephew, Jeremy Robare of Modesto, Calif.; and several cousins.

One niece, Elinor Robare died in 2002.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in the spring.

Donations in her memory, may be made to Hospice of the North Country.

Alan Hogle

Lake Clear — Alan Hogle, 85, of Lake Clear, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Adirondack Medical Center.

He was born in Moriah, N.Y., on May 14, 1917, the son of Rev. C.P. and Clarissa (Mason) Hogle.

Mr. Hogle was raised by the Lamson family, Homestead in Vermontville, N.Y.

He married Lucy Mae Smith, Dec. 25, 1941, in Constableville, N.Y., They celebrated 60 years of marriage last Christmas.

Mr. Hogan was a 1935 graduate of Saranac Lake High School. He later attended and graduated from Clarkson University in 1941 with a Mechanical Engineering Degree.

Mr. Hogan was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Sergeant during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign in Okinawa. After returning from the war, he went to work in his wife's family store in Boomingdale for a few years. In 1948, he went to work for the Paul Smiths Electric Light/Power and Railroad Company.

The Hogle's left the area to move to Plattsburgh and then to the Ithica area.

Mr. Hogle was employed by the New York State Electric and Gas Company for 21 years until his retirement in 1981. Following his retirement the Hogle's returned to the North Country.

Mr. Hogle was a Model A Ford enthusiast. In 1955 he purchased a 1931 Model A Ford Coupe in which he maintained and loved to drive. The car had all its original parts inside and out. Mr. Hogle is a charter member of the Model A Ford Club of America.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy May Hogle of Lake Clear, N.Y.; one daughter, Betty Jackson of New Rochelle, N.Y.; two grandsons, Christopher of Briarwood, Queens, N.Y., and Jeffrey of Somerville, N.Y.; two nephews, Thomas Bacon of Fairfax, Va., and John Bacon of Denver, Colo.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service to be announced will take place in the spring at the Methodist Church in Bloomingdale. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery in the spring.

Friends wishing to remember Alan Hogle may make memorial contributions to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad in care of the funeral home.

Mary Ellen (Napp) Armes, 79, a summer resident of Silver Bay, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, in Hudsonville, Mich.

She was born January 14, 1923 in India.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will take place Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Hague Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Holliday will officiate.

Burial will be in the spring at the family plot in the May Memorial Cemetery of Hague.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, Ticonderoga.

Charles B. LaRocque, 83, of the Valehaven Home in Massena, formerly of Barbara Street, Malone, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at the Massena Memorial Hospital.

He was born on July 30, 1919, in Bloomfield, N.J., the son of the late Jules and Elsa (Doll) LaRocque.

Calling hours and funeral services will be at the convenience or the family. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone, in the spring.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyer Funeral Service of Malone.

Kenneth J. McCain, 96, of State Route 95, Bombay, N.Y., died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at the Alice Hyde Nursing Home in Malone.

He was born in Bombay on Feb. 7, 1906, the son of the late William and Fannie (McGowan) McCain.

Calling hours will be Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Cappiello-McKenzie & Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington, N.Y. A funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Donald Alexander officiating, Burial will be in Hillside Rest Cemetery in Bombay, N.Y., in the spring. Friends and family are invited to the home of Glenn & Susan Black of Fort Covington, N.Y., immediately following for a reception.

Doris H. Hammond, 95, formerly of Chateaugay died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at the Franklin County Nursing Home, Malone, N.Y.

She was born in Canton, N.Y., on Aug. 21, 1907, the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Gilson) Hale.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, in St. Patrick's Church, Chateaugay with Rev. Ray Moreau officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in Eastside Cemetery. Arrangements are through the Chateaugay Funeral Home.

Rita LeBlanc, 78, of Rouses Point died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Calling hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point.
