Published: 12/10/02Priscilla BelmoreAuSable Forks — Priscilla Belmore died in the Keene Valley Neighborhood House at the age of 93. She was born Feb. 22, 1909, in AuSable Forks, the daughter of James and Hattie (Maple) Williams. She graduated from Plattsburgh Normal School and was a teacher for 39 years, all but two years in the AuSable Forks School System. She was a member of the AuSable Forks United Methodist Church and New York State Retired Teachers Association. Her hobbies were reading, bridge, sports on TV and water color painting. She attended Plattsburgh School of Art and was an honorary and active member of Mt. Artists of New York for many years. Priscilla is survived by a brother and his wife, (Ret.) Col. John R. and Jeanne Williams of Tallahassee, Fla.; a brother-in-law, (Ret.) Col. E.F. Elliott of Melbourne, Fla.; a nephew and his wife, James and Judy Williams of AuSable Forks and their children, J. Paul Williams and Rebecca and Craig Douglas; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth (Pete) Belmore; a sister, Mary Elliott; a brother and his wife, Paul and Millie Williams; and nieces, Cynthia Williams and Susan W. Kenyon. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Fairview Cemetery, AuSable Forks. Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the AuSable Forks United Methodist Church or AuSable Forks Free Library. Nola C. Lamica, 85, of Saddle Brook Lane, Evansville, Ind., and formerly of Malone, N.Y., died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Evansville, Ind. She was born in Malone, N.Y., Oct. 4, 1917, the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Gregware) Shepard. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery in the Spring. |
