Jacqueline Treadway LaMotte

PORT HENRY — Jacqueline Treadway LaMotte, 54, of Port Henry, died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Jackie was born on March 14, 1948, at Ticonderoga, N.Y., the daughter of John & Fayella (Launderville) Treadway.

She worked for many years at The Job Corps in Vergennes, Vt.

She was a Friend of the Moriah Baptist Church in Moriah.

She is survived by her son, James Decker Jr.; her grandson, Seth Decker; her granddaughter, Kurstin Mauran; her sisters, Joan O'Neil and her husband, Elbridge O’Neil and Janice Hart and her husband, Steve Hart; her brother, Lemuel Treadway and his wife, Susan Treadway; seven nephews; five nieces; three great-nephews; and one great-niece.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Fayella Treadway.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at the Moriah Baptist Church.

Memorial donations may be made to the Moriah Baptist Church, Moriah, N.Y.

Evelyn E. Beebe

COOPERSVILLE — Evelyn E. Beebe, 83, of Coopersville, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Champlain, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Elizabeth (Abare) Roberts.

Evelyn owned and operated Beebe's Grocery in Coopersville for 59 years.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Lawrence Beebe; four sisters, Pearl Babbie, Leita LaPier, Rita Rabideau and Betty Babbie; one brother, Richard Roberts; and a grandson, Glen Bulriss.

Survivors include, a son Richard and Jackie Beebe of Sandusky, Ohio; four daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Clifford Bulriss of Mooers, Teotis Donah of Champlain, Audrey and Lawrence Douglas of Altona and Ann and Kevin Cote of Durham, N.H.; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Also, four brothers, Ronald and Gerald Roberts of Mooers and Morris and Francis Roberts of Champlain; three sisters, Dora Filion, Doris Trombly and Margaret Dragoon of Mooers.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at Clark Funeral Home in Champlain from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at St. Joseph's Church in Coopersville at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rouses Point Fire Department or a Charity of choice in memory of Evelyn Beebe.

DOROTHEA W. SCANLAN, 71, of Catskill, N.Y., died Dec. 1, 2002, surrounded by her family.

Calling hours will be Tuesday evening, Dec. 3, 2002, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill, N.Y. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, William Street, Catskill. The Rev. Michael Gorchov, rector, will be officiating. Burial will follow in the veterans plot at Catskill Rural Cemetery.
