Published: 12/2/02Jacqueline Treadway LaMottePORT HENRY — Jacqueline Treadway LaMotte, 54, of Port Henry, died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Jackie was born on March 14, 1948, at Ticonderoga, N.Y., the daughter of John and Fayella (Launderville) Treadway. She worked for many years at The Job Corps in Vergennes, Vt. She was a Friend of the Moriah Baptist Church in Moriah. She is survived by her son, James Decker Jr.; her grandson, Seth Decker; her granddaughter, Kurstin Mauran; two sisters, Joan O’Neil and her husband, Elbridge O’Neil, and Janice Hart and her husband, Steve Hart; her brother, Lemuel Treadway and his wife, Susan Treadway; seven nephews; five nieces; three great-nephews; and one great-niece. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Fayella Treadway. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Moriah Baptist Church. Robert P. LlewellynPERU — Robert P. Llewellyn, 73, of Dashnaw Road, Peru, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wellsboro, Pa., on Dec. 15, 1928, the son of Paul and Margaret (Smith) Llewellyn. He served in the Army/Air Corps, Korean War and retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He was a civilian civil service employee retiring from Plattsburgh Air Force Base as fire chief. Mr. Llewellyn was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, VFW Post 1505 of Keeseville, American Legion Post 20 of Plattsburgh and a member of AARL, as an amateur radio operator, call sign N2KSF. He enjoyed gardening, attending all sports and musical events of his grandchildren, and Monday coffee with his friends. Survivors include his wife, Nida (Bowen) of Peru; two daughters and one son-in-law, Gloria Rae Llewellyn of Bayville, N.Y., and Brenda Sue and Harry Smith of Peru; one son, Robert Jesse Llewellyn of Peru; three grandchildren, Heather, Brandon and Kayla Smith of Peru; one brother and sister-in-law, Brion Richard and Linda Llewellyn of Pa.; three sisters and two brother-in-laws, Mary Lou Machmer, Faye and William Kenyon, and Bonnie and Donald Haddow of Pa.; one brother-in-law, Raymond Smith, and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ardith and Robert Matreski of Pa. His parents, one brother, Beryl James Llewellyn, and one sister, Joyce Smith, predeceased him. Calling hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. Sally White officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Harkness Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Fitzpatrick Cancer Center, 212 Cornelia St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901. Mary Louise McLeanJAY — Mary Louise McLean, 69, of Route 9N Jay, passed away at her home Saturday morning, Nov. 30, 2002, after a lengthy illness. She was born May 26, 1933 in Jay, the daughter of Walter and Cora (Richard) Straight. Mary Lou was a member of Holy Name Church in AuSable Forks. She enjoyed doing things for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and she was the recipient of the "Golden Trowel Award" from the AuSable Valley Club, which pleased her very much. Mary Lou is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and John McCabe, and a son, Michael McLean, all of Jay; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Freda Straight of Jay, and a sister, Evelyn LaVarnway of Peru; grandchildren Justin and Tamber McCabe of AuSable Forks, Cora and Brandon Herringshaw of Jay, Tristian McLean and Alycia Mclean, both of Jay, and Jordan Mclean of Lake Placid; two great-grandchildren, Madison Rose Marie McCabe and Quinn Julia Herringshaw. Her husband, Joseph McLean, whom she married Nov. 9, 1949, in the chapel of Holy Name Church, died May 12, 1998. Other relatives that predeceased her were her parents; a brother, William Straight, and a sister, Lilla Wheeler. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 in the chapel of Holy Name Church, AuSable Forks. Burial will be at a later date in Jay Central Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorials to her may be made to the AuSable Forks Volunteer Ambulance Service. Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Nora E. SnideROUSES POINT — Nora E. Snide, 47, passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Plattsburgh on Jan. 5, 1956, the daughter of Roland and Alphegina Snide. She was predeceased by her father. Survivors include her mother; one daughter, Lora Snide of Champlain; five brothers, Eugene and Christine Snide of Mooers, Claude Snide of Mooers, Roland and June Snide of Ellenburg, Jerry and Joanne Snide of Wooster, Ohio, and Danny and Pamela Snide of Mooers Forks; four sisters, Karen Lashway of Altona, Dianne Armstrong of Rouses Point, Geneva and Jacob Ashline of Champlain, and Donna Snide of Champlain; one granddaughter, Kelsey Monette; several nieces and nephews; and a long-time companion, Shedrick Jenkins. Funeral arrangements will be private and are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point. RAYMOND H. LINCOLN, 82, formerly of 184 River St., died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002 at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid. He was born in Dickenson Center on June 30, 1920, the son of Edward and Lilly (Gonyea) Lincoln. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 at Uihlein Mercy Center Chapel with the Rev. Patrick O’Reilly, chaplain, officiating. Cremation will follow. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Uihlein Mercy Center or Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service. GENE KILBOURN, 50, of 30 Greenwood St., Lake Placid, died at his home on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002. He was born in Lake Placid on June 28, 1952. Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Clark Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. today. Burial will follow in North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid. Memorial donations may be made to Lake Placid Pet Care. EDWARD BRISSENDON, 97, formerly of Lake Placid, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002 at the Clifton House in New Haven, Conn. He was born Oct. 9, 1905 in Sittingbourne, England, the son of Edward C. and Lillian (Shoubsari) Brissendon. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at North Elba Cemetery, Lake Placid, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3. The Clark Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. WILLIAM J. ST. DENNIS, 77, died Friday, Nov. 29 at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital. He was born June 12, 1925 in Elizabethtown, the son of James and Nellie (Shovan) St. Dennis. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at W.M.Marvins Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A private funeral service will be held for the family on Tuesday. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Elizabethtown. CHARLES PEISCHL, 82, of Plattsburgh, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at his home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. EVELYN BEEBE, 83, of Champlain, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born Nov. 22, 1913 in Ellenburg Center, the daughter of Edmund and Cora (LaBare) Patnode. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Marvin’s Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at St. Brendan’s Church in Keene. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Keene Valley Fire and Rescue Squad. |
