Hertha "Pete" Welch

Marengo, Ill. — Hertha "Pete" Welch, 89, of Marengo, Ill., died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center, Woodstock, Ill.

She was born on Sept. 20, 1913, in Crystal Lake, Ill, the daughter of the late Carl and Ludmilla (Dvoracek) Kallina.

On May 2, 1936, also in Crystal Lake, she married Joseph Welch.

For many years, she was employed by Arnold Engineering in Marengo. She was a charter member of Sacred Heart Church Rosarian Council, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its seniors club, the Marengo Women’s Club and a former member of St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, Belvidere, Ill.

She is survived by two children, Pamela (Fredrick) Grant of Egg Harbor, Wis., and Philip (Jean) Welch of West Chazy, N.Y.; a grandson, Joseph (Cynthia) Grant of Huntsville, Ala.; a granddaughter, Lt. J.G. Meghan Welch, U.S. Navy, of Everette, Wash., assigned to the USS Lincoln; one great - grandson, Andrew Grant; one great-granddaughter, Reid Sanderson; a brother, Curt (Shirley) Kallina of Woodstock, Ill.; a sister, Margaret Bowser of North Lake, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Jean Bozee of Huntsville, Ala.; and her number two son, Edward (Sherry) Zenk of Rockford; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992; and two brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo, Ill., and from 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, until the prayer service at 10:30 a.m. to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a 11 a.m. Mass, celebrated by Monsignor Philip O'Neil. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Marengo Lion's Club, c/o 100 W. Washington, Marengo, IL 60152.

Robert C. Peryer

WEST CHAZY — Robert C. Peryer, 67, of the Peryer Road, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt.

He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Jul. 29, 1935, the son of Clarence and Catherine (Blow) Peryer.

Robert married the former Beverly Rabideau on July 11, 1959, at Holy Angels Church in Altona, N.Y.

He worked as a desk clerk and night auditor at the Cumberland Hotel in Plattsburgh from 1959 - 1961. He worked as a dynamiter on I-87 construction. From 1972 - 1994, Mr. Peryer was the owner and operator of Robert Peryer & Sons, a contract bulk mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.

Robert was a member of St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy, the American Legion Post 20, Knights of Columbus, Fr. August J. Dumont Council 4441 in Ellenburg and as a 4th degree member of Pope John XXIII Assembly in Mooers and the National Star Route Carriers Association.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Beverly of West Chazy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Eugene Nichols of West Chazy and Kathy and Jerry Spinner of Altona; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Lora Peryer of West Chazy and Brian Peryer and Barbara Green of West Chazy; one brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Betty Peryer of West Chazy; one sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Richard Mazurowski of Felts Mills, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Lyssa, Stuart, Jared and Evan Nichols, Jason Spinner, Robert J. Peryer and Michael and Ryan Peryer; and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Karen Marie; and a granddaughter, Tara Suzanne.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Burial will take place in the spring in Holy Angels Cemetery in Altona, N.Y.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Plattsburgh Renal Center.

Mary E. Roberts, 76, of McGaulley Avenue, Plattsburgh, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Aug. 23, 1926.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Church. Burial will take place in the spring in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Robert Jeanette, 66, of 434 Miner Farm Road, Chazy, died on Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh on June 13, 1936, the son of Kenneth Jeanette and Florence M. Pearo.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert C. Parent, 79, of Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Oct. 28, 1923.

A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh in the spring.
