Bridget Stewart

Lake Placid — Bridget Stewart, 21, of 29 Greenwood St., Lake Placid, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Conn.

She was born in Rhinebeck, N.Y., May 31, 1981, the daughter of Donald and Debra (Henkel) Stewart.

Bridget was a graduate of St. Agnes School and Lake Placid High School, Class of 2000.

She attended North Country Community College in Saranac Lake for one year and transferred to Northwestern Community College in Connecticut to continue her studies in Deaf Education. Bridget was a member of the Deaf Club in Northwestern College, the Drama Club at Lake Placid High School, the Lake Placid Skating Club "Placidettes", St. Agnes Mystery Players and a member of the 1999 girls' basketball team at Lake Placid High School.

Bridget worked in Lake Placid at Ruthie's Run and Aroma Round Coffee House. Bridget was a remarkable young woman who loved life and lived it with grace and courage.

During her 21 years she faced many health crises and throughout her life she continually rose above the limitations of her physical condition to participate in activities that she loved. In January 2000 she was chosen as Star Student of the Month by an area radio station for her contributions to her school and community. After her graduation from high school, she went to Italy to visit one of the foreign exchange students that she counted among her many friends. Bridget's manner was gentle and her spirit was always positive. Her quiet dignity and courage inspired all who knew her.

She is survived by her parents; three brothers, Donald, Erich and Patrick, all of Lake Placid; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid.

A Bible Vigil Service, will be held Friday evening at 8:30 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at 1 p.m. at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Rev. J. Michael Gaffney, pastor, will celebrate. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests friends wishing to remember Bridget make donations to National Marfan Foundation, 22 Manhesset Ave., Port Washington, NY 11050.

Louis E. Dudley

MACON — Louis E. Dudley, 86, of 968 Perdue St., Macon, Ga., died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue, Macon, Ga., with burial in Macon Memorial Park. The Rev. Grady Mimbs officiated.

Mr. Dudley was born in Crown Point, N.Y., the son of the late Jerry and Jessie (Clark) Dudley.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and had lived in Macon the past 58. Mr. Dudley was retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Bryan Dudley, Macon; his son: Doug Dudley, Griffin; two daughters, Cheryl Banknell, Gray and Mary Pope, Macon; a sister, Ethel Levesque, Crown Point, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue, were in charge of arrangements.

Bernice A. "Bunny" (Fortino) Vigliotti

Ticonderoga — Bernice A. "Bunny" (Fortino) Vigliotti, 83, of Wayne Avenue, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Center of Burlington, Vt.

She was born in Whitehall, Jan. 13, 1919, the daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Pecchio) Fortino.

Mrs. Vigliotti was a life-time resident of Ticonderoga. She was a graduate of Ticonderoga High School.

Over the years, she owned and operated several businesses in Ticonderoga, including the Palm Restaurant, the Colonial Restaurant and the Belfred Motel and Liquor Store.

Bunny was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ticonderoga and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court of St. Mary's 794 of Ticonderoga.

She was a former Ticonderoga Town Councilwoman and was elected the 1982 Business Woman of the Year.

She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Vigliotti; by one son, Michael A. Vigliotti; by two brothers, John Fortino and Tony Fortino; and by one sister, Catherine "Kitty" Garrand.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia A. Hendrix of Ticonderoga; one sister-in-law, Mary A. Fortino of Ticonderoga; one daughter-in-law, Mary H. Vigliotti of Ticonderoga; six grandchildren, Mia Vigliotti Gai, Gia Blanchard, Michael C. Vigliotti, Michael L. Hendrix, Patrick T. Hendrix and Justin L. Hendrix five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. The Rev. William G, Muench, Pastor, will officiate.

The Rite of Committal will follow at the family plot of St. Mary's Parish Cemetery of Ticonderoga.

Clara O. (Hall) Knickerbocker, 85, of both Putnam Station and Kirkwood, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

She was born March 22, 1917, in Johnson City, N.Y.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will take place Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Putnam United Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Helenmarie Sunkenberg will officiate.

Sister Tabitha Ruth Johnson SSA, 58, of Fort Covington, N.Y., died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y., where she had been a patient since October 29, 2002.

She was born in Jamaica Plain, Mass., on Jan. 25, 1944, the daughter of Benjamin and Agnes (Wilbur) Fader.

Calling hours will be in the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington, N.Y., on Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Archbishop Seraphim MacLennan, of Emmaus Abbey, officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Westville, N.Y.
