Abdul Shakoor Khan

Honolulu, Hawaii — Abdul Shakoor Khan, 49, of Honolulu, Hawaii, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002.

He was born in Kurachi, Pakistan, on June 15, 1953.

He came to this country in November 1989 and became a U.S. citizen, of which he was very proud.

He met the love of his life, Mary M. Nunn, in 1987 in Europe. They were married on Dec. 29, 1989.

He was known by his friends and relatives as a wonderful, devoted husband, father and friend.

He is survived by five sons, Arbab, Azam, United, Sumundar V. and Abdul Jr.; three daughters, Amber, Laxmi (Mali) and Hawaii; five brothers-in-law, James Nunn of Reno, Nev., Thomas Nunn of Boston, Mass., Paul Nunn of Morrisonville, Perry Nunn of Burlington, Vt., and Ted Nunn of San Diego, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Susan Lustenader of West Chazy; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Sumundar O. Khan.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Helen M. (Peterson) Lethbridge

Ticonderoga — Helen M. (Peterson) Lethbridge, 78, of Grace Avenue, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Center of Burlington, VT.

She was born in Dresden, Oct. 23, 1924, the daughter of the late Nelson and Ellen P. (Lillie) Peterson.

Mrs. Lethbridge was a resident of Ticonderoga for most of her life. She was a wonderful cook and baker and especially enjoyed cooking for her family and many friends.

Her husband, Leo C. Lethbridge predeceased her in 1977.

Survivors include two sons, Nelson (Chip) Lethbridge and his wife, Nancy of Ticonderoga and James L. Lethbridge and his wife, Geraldine of Rockville Center, Long Island; two brothers, Robert Peterson and his wife, Leslie of Putnam Station and John Peterson and his wife, Anne of Ticonderoga; one sister, Pearl Chadwick and her husband, Glen of Putnam Station; five grandchildren, Sara Lethbridge, Mickey Lethbridge, Christian Lethbridge, Caroline Lethbridge, and Gregory Lethbridge; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Mr. Elliott A. Shaw of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate.

Interment will be private at the family plot of the Clemons Cemetery.

Rena Margaret O’Connor

Rouses Point — Rena Margaret O’Connor, 84, of Rouses Point and a resident of Cedar Hedge Nursing Home since November of 2000, passed away Nov. 25, 2002, at the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point.

She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on June 23, 1918, the daughter of Fred and Maude (Manor) West.

She graduated from Rouses Point High School.

She married Leo O'Connor at St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point on June 12, 1945. Her husband predeceased her in 1981.

She was employed at Key Bank in Rouses Point for most of her working career. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church for many years where she was active in many church organizations and activities. She was a member of Rouses Point Catholic Daughters of America for many years where she held the position of Grand Regent as well as other officer positions.

She loved gardening, visiting, entertaining, berry picking and making homemade jam that she would give to her friends with love and thoughtfulness that exemplified her life. She enjoyed playing cards. She was an avid and accomplished bridge player and competed in many duplicate tournaments throughout the Northeast.

Mrs. O’Connor is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Mary O'Connor of Rouses Point; and her three grandsons, Dan, Kevin, and Mike O'Connor. She is also survived by two sisters, Ina Bourke of Rouses Point and Vivian Wilder of Broad Albin, N.Y.

Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her granddaughter, Molly O’Connor; two brothers, Leeward and Bernard West; five sisters, Eva King, Hilda LaFountaine, Grace Spancake, Bertha West and Jean West.

Calling hours will be Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, from St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Mary's School or the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home activity fund.

Bridget Stewart

Lake Placid — Bridget Stewart, 21, of 29 Greenwood St., Lake Placid, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Conn.

She was born in Rhinebeck, N.Y., May 31, 1981, the daughter of Donald and Debra (Henkel) Stewart.

Bridget was a graduate of St. Agnes School and Lake Placid High School, Class of 2000.

She attended North Country Community College in Saranac Lake for one year and transferred to Northwestern Community College in Connecticut to continue her studies in Deaf Education. Bridget was a member of the Deaf Club in Northwestern College, the Drama Club at Lake Placid High School, the Lake Placid Skating Club "Placidettes", St. Agnes Mystery Players and a member of the 1999 girls' basketball team at Lake Placid High School.

Bridget worked in Lake Placid at Ruthie's Run and Aroma Round Coffee House. Bridget was a remarkable young woman who loved life and lived it with grace and courage.

During her twenty-one years she faced many health crises and throughout her life she continually rose above the limitations of her physical condition to participate in activities that she loved. In January 2000 she was chosen as Star Student of the Month by an area radio station for her contributions to her school and community. After her graduation from high school, she went to Italy to visit one of the foreign exchange students that she counted among her many friends. Bridget's manner was gentle and her spirit was always positive. Her quiet dignity and courage inspired all who knew her.

She is survived by her parents; three brothers, Donald, Erich and Patrick, all of Lake Placid; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid.

A Bible Vigil Service, will be held Friday evening at 8:30 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at 1 p.m. at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Rev. J. Michael Gaffney, pastor, will celebrate. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests friends wishing to remember Bridget make donations to national Marsan Foundation, 22 Manhesset Ave., Port Washington, NY 11050.

Harvey H. Thibodeau

PLATTSBURGH — Harvey H. Thibodeau, 82, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at his home.

He was born on July 5, 1920, in St. Valentin, Quebec, the son of Moses and Louise (Denault) Thibodeau.

He married Rose Laurin in St. Jean, PQ, on Aug. 10, 1942.

Harvey owned and operated a vegetable cannery in St. Valentin, until it was destroyed by fire. He then farmed in Canada, Ellenburg Center and Champlain. After farming Harvey started his own bakery in Waterford, N.Y. He later retired from SUNY Plattsburgh after many years in food service at Saranac Hall.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Thibodeau of Plattsburgh; three sons and daughters-in-law, Marcel and Donna Thibodeau of West Chazy, Ray and Joy Thibodeau, of Plattsburgh, Michael and Candy Thibodeau, of Champlain; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Claudette Favreau of Plattsburgh, Francine and Donald Gagnier of Plattsburgh, Huguette and Donald LaValley of Mount Joilet, Tenn.; one brother and sister-in-law, Rolland and Patricia Thibodeau of Plattsburgh; one sister-in-law, Lucille Thibodeau of St. Jean, PQ; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Harvey was predeceased by two brothers, Aldee and Marciel; and two sisters, Roselina and Ida.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Entombment will follow in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens, in Plattsburgh.

Donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.

Lori AnN LaVoie, 40, of State Route 11, North Bangor, N.Y., died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at her home, under the care of her family and Hospice of the North Country.

She was born in Malone, on Nov. 3, 1962, the daughter of Darrel and Mary (Murphy) LaVoie.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. in Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery in North Bangor.
