Published: 11/16/02Leonard T. GenierMoriah, N.Y. — Leonard T. Genier passed away on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at his daughter's home in Casper, Wyo. He was born Oct. 18, 1915, to John and Josephine Genier of Mineville, N.Y. As a young man, he served in the Civil Conservation Corps, after which be became employed as a welder for Republic Steel Corp., remaining there until the closing of the mines in 1971. The following years he did private contract jobs, using his skills as a master welder and carpenter. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passionate love for the Adirondacks and always cherished spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by his remaining family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Vera in 1988. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Donahue and Mrs. Genevieve Poulette; his children, Janet Atchley, Judith Genier, Richard Genier, Barbara Fecura and George Genier; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The family will hold a viewing on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry, N.Y. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at 1 p.m. at the Moriah United Methodist Church, Tarbell Hill, Moriah, N.Y., interment to follow at the Union Cemetery, Moriah, N.Y. Following the interment, the family extends an invitation to all who knew him to a reception at the Moriah Fire Hall, to share in the joy and memory of his life. Memorial donations may be made to High Peaks Hospice or the Veterans of Foreign Wars. James F. BeemanCrown Point, N.Y. — James F. Beeman, 72, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at his home in Crown Point, N.Y. He was born on Jan. 16, 1930, at Moriah, N.Y. Jim worked for the Town of Crown Point Highway Department. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Beeman Long and friend Jen of Roanoke, Va.; five sons, David Beeman and his wife Della of Hinsdale, N.Y., Joseph Beeman, Vane Beeman of Crown Point, William Beeman and his wife Penny of Crown Point and James John Beeman and acquaintance Merideth Sweeney of Port Henry; his sister, Loretta Genier of Mineville; and several grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Cora H. Woods Beeman; his parents, Dave and Pauline Bevins; and his sister, Hazel Whitford. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be conducted Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the White Church Cemetery, Crown Point, N.Y. Margaret H. Baker, 89, formerly of Church Street, Saranac Lake, died Nov. 15, 2002, at the Franklin County Nursing Home in Malone. She was born in Santa Clara, N.Y., on Aug. 27, 1913, the daughter of Frank and Vivian (Hall) Drasye. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Friday at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bloomingdale. Arrangements are with the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. Wildren J. Fisher, 82, of the Moody Road, Malone, died Nov. 14, 2002, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Moores Forks, N.Y., on Aug. 6, 1920, the son of the late Joseph N. and Victoria (LaValley) Fisher. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. The Moose Lodge will conduct a service in the funeral home on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 18th at 10:30 a.m. in Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. |
