Walter J. King

Burke — Walter J. King, 71, of the East Road, Burke, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vt.

He was born in Ellenburg, N.Y., on Sept. 13, 1931, the son of Walter and Laura (King) King.

He was married to Evelyn M. Whalen on June 5, 1956, in St. Edmund's Church. She predeceased him on Feb. 26, 2002.

Mr. King is survived by six children and their spouses, Walter King of Elira, Ohio, Cathy and Brian Kourofsky of Merrill, N.Y., Daniel and Susie Jones King of Chateaugay, N.Y., Joan and Bryant Dumont of Brainardsville, N.Y., Janie King of Champlain, N.Y., Dick and Lisa King of West Chazy, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Erin Lee Dumont, Kristin Kourofsky, Brian Kourofsky, Hilary Hawksby, Heather Hawksby, Tori Rabideau, Evan King and Hayden King; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Patrick and Sandra King of Ellenburg Center, N.Y., David King of Bradenton, Fla., Paul and Vi King of Ellenburg Corners, N.Y., two sisters and brothers-in-law Phyllis and Arthur Trich of New Carlisle, Ohio, Bernice and Walter Patnode of Wassaic, N.Y.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Wilfred King, and a sister, Verna Seney.

Mr. King graduated from Ellenburg High School and served in the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged, he became a heavy equipment operator and a crane operator and was employed at IBEW 1249 of Syracuse. He worked several major construction projects.

Walt was an avid horse lover and raised draft horses on his farm.

He was a member of St. George's Church in Burke, Lyon Mountain American Legion, IBEW 1249, Operating Engineers Union and the Draft Horse Club.

There will be no calling hours.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, in St. George's Church with Rev. Ray Moreau officiating.

Burial will take place at St. Edmund’s Cemetery, Ellenburg.

Family and friends are invited to a gathering at the Chateaugay American Legion following committal prayers.

Clarence P. Trombley

Chateaugay — Clarence P. Trombley, 73, of Lake Street, Chateaugay, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, N.Y.

He was born in Ellenburg, N.Y., on Jan. 3, 1929, the son of John and Florence (LaClair) Trombley.

He was married to Annette Decosse on Aug. 22, 1950, in St. Patrick's Church, Chateaugay.

Mr. Trombley is survived by his wife of 52 years, two daughters and sons-in-law, May and Dean Cooke of Massena, N.Y., Deborah and Ray Bastien of Norwich, Conn.; a son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Veronica Trombley of Colchester, Conn.; three grandchildren Danielle Clute of Ogdensburg, N.Y., Randall Trombley of Massena, N.Y., Jordan Bastien of Norwich, Conn.; two great- grandchildren, Jenna and Jacob Clute of Ogdensburg, N.Y.; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Howard and Bernice Trombley of Brattleboro, Vt., Leon Trombley of Chateaugay, N.Y., Ross and Anita Trombley of Chateaugay, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his father on June 8, 1984, his mother on May 19, 2001, and a sister, Irma Kerry.

Mr. Trombley attended Ellenburg High School and then Chateaugay High School. He drove bus for Chateaugay Central School from 1955 to 1970. Clarence owned and operated the family farm in Chateaugay for over 40 years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed taking walks and driving his 3 wheeler through the woods. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, Chateaugay.

Calling hours will be held the at Chateaugay Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, in St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Ray Moreau officiating.

Entombment will take place at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens, Ellenburg Depot.

Donations in his memory may be made to Chateaugay Rescue Squad.

Maurice S. Young

DANNEMORA — Maurice S. Young, 81, of 526 Wilfred King Rd., died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Old Forge, N.Y., on Sept. 8, 1921, the son of Harry T. and Mary (Sperry) Young.

Mr. Young married the former Marion Kirch at the First Presbyterian Church in Watertown, N.Y., on July 7, 1945.

Upon graduation from the Town of Webb High School in 1939, he joined the Navy and was a World War II veteran of the Pacific Theatre and a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Young also served with the Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean. For the next 20 years he was employed as a buildings manager for G.S.A. in the North Country.

He and his wife were active square dancers in both the "Fun Timers" and the "North Country Square" clubs. They also ran a bed and breakfast at their home on Chazy Lake for many years.

Survivors include his wife Marion of 57 years; one son, Gregory Young of Northampton, Mass.; two daughters, Grace Brockway and her husband William of Dannemora and Greta Daigle and her husband Donald of Schenectady; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

One brother, William Youngs, and one sister, Harriet Ellsworth, died earlier.

There will be no public calling hours.

Mr. Young chose to donate his body to the University of Vermont College of Medicine.

A public memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at 2 p.m. at American Legion Post 20 on the Quarry Road in Plattsburgh.

Donations, in his memory, may be made to the Dannemora Volunteer Fire Department.

R.W. Walker Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.

Anne Brennan Wodjenski

The Villages, FLA. — Anne Brennan Wodjenski, 71, of Dellano Way, The Villages, Fla., died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at The Villages Regional Hospital.

She was born in Malone, N.Y., and moved to The Villages from Miami Fla., in 2002.

Mrs. Wodjenski was a retired office manager for the a medical doctor in Miami, Fla. She was a member and past president of The Villages Baker’s Dozen. She was former mayor of Scotch Plains, N.J. and a former social worker fro the Catholic Charities of Plattsburgh, N.Y. she was a graduate of The College of New Rochelle, N.Y. and was an avid reader.

Survivors include, her husband Joseph Wodjenski of The Villages Fla.; one son, Joseph B. Wodjenski, Portland, Maine; two daughters, Kim Scogna, Drexel Hill, Pa., Sheila Anne Hurtt, Tampa, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial for Anne Brennan Wodjenski will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Belleview, Fla., with Father James MacLoughlin, celebrant. There are no public calling hours. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, Catholic Charities of St. Theresa Catholic Church, 11528 S.E. Hwy. 301, Belleview Fla., 32620.

Beyers Funeral Home, Lady Lake Fla., is in charge of the arrangements.
