Dawn Garmirian Svenson

Keeseville — Dawn Garmirian Svenson, 50, of Route 9N, Keeseville, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City.

She was born in New York City, Feb. 27, 1952, the daughter of Edwin and Rachael (Hall) Garmirian.

She grew up in Queens, N.Y., and attended Bay Side High.

Dawn received her Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from New York University.

She was married to Bob Svenson on Aug. 4, 1973.

She was the founder and original director of The Mother Connection in Montrose, N.Y. She owned and operated Dawn By The River in Plattsburgh and A Stable By The River in Keeseville.

She was a woman who loved many and was loved by many.

Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Svenson of Keeseville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Christopher and Joy Svenson of Plattsburgh and Eric Svenson and Lianne Sullivan of Keeseville; two daughters, Kathryn Svenson and Jamie Svenson both of Keeseville; her parents, Edwin and Rachael Garmirian of Montrose; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Camille Garmirian of Connecticut, Bob and Pat Garmirian of Massachusetts, and James and Barbara Garmirian of Pennsylvania; a cousin, Calvin Murray of Rye; and several other cousins, and nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Plattsburgh with Rev. Steve Yagerman, Rev. David Hamilton and Rev. Kenneth Parker, officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in God's Acre Cemetery in Peru.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Evelyn Kissane

Chateaugay — Evelyn Kissane, 91, formerly of Chateaugay, died at the Franklin County Nursing Home, Malone, N.Y., early Tuesday morning, Nov. 5, 2002.

She was born in Churubusco, N.Y., on July 6, 1911, the daughter of Edgar and Jeannette (Patneaude) Gagnier.

Evelyn was married to the late James Kissane on Aug. 26, 1942, in St. Joseph's Rectory, Malone. He predeceased her on Dec. 6, 1987.

Mrs. Kissane is survived by two sisters, Albertine Griffith of Old Bethpage, Long Island and Sister Regina Gagnier of Wilmington, Del.; a brother, James Gagnier of Bethesda, Md.; a sister-in-law Julia Kissane formerly of Chateaugay; many nieces and nephews all of whom loved her very much.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Hubert, Gerard and Edgar Gagnier, and a sister, Annette Gagnier.

Evelyn first attended school at St. Ann’s Convent in Lachine, Quebec. After graduating from St. Joseph's Academy in Malone, Evelyn continued her studies at Teachers Training Class in Chateaugay. She went on to complete her teaching degree at Plattsburgh State Teachers College. Evelyn pursued her teaching career as a remedial reading specialist until her retirement.

She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, Chateaugay.

Evelyn was a devoted and loving wife. After her husband James' death, she enjoyed extensive traveling and visiting with family. She had a full and wonderful life.

Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 p.m. in St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Ray Moreau officiating.

Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chateaugay.

Donations in the form of Masses for Evelyn and James Kissane would be greatly appreciated.

Viola "Vi" Bleau

Plattsburgh — Mrs. Viola B. "Vi" Bleau, 88, of Standish Street passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility.

She was born in Plattsburgh on May 21, 1914, the daughter of Mose and Blanche (Stay) Bordeau.

Vi retired from Georgia Pacific after 35 years of service.

She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and she was an avid reader.

Vi was a member of RSVP, St. Peter's Church and St. Peter's Altar and Rosary Society.

She was predeceased by her husband Earl Bleau and a son Michael Bleau.

Vi is survived by a daughter, Judy Sipe and her husband, Joseph of Plattsburgh; a step brother, Donald Bordeau of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Eric Bleau and his wife, Yen of Hawaii; Jason Bleau of California and Courtney Sipe of Plattsburgh; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. from St. Peter's church.

Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Members of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Peter's Church are asked to meet Wednesday at 3 p.m. for services.

Friends wishing may have Masses said in her memory.

Winifred J. Perry

MORRISONVILLE — Winifred J. Parry, 74, of Maple Street died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at her home.

Mrs. Parry was born in Plattsburgh on July 7, 1928, the daughter of Leslie Grant and Nellie (Barber) Bulley.

She married Russell G. Parry in 1946 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Plattsburgh, he died in 1983.

Mrs. Parry loved following all sports particularly major league baseball and devoted her time to taking care of animals.

She and her husband owned and operated, Russ' News Room on City Hall Place, for many years retiring in 1967.

Survivors include one son, Russell G. Parry Jr. and his wife Lyla of Fayetteville, Ga.; three daughters, Diana Toth and her husband Tibor of Newfields, N.H., Toni Reome

and her husband Bernard and Kathy Kezar and her husband Kevin, all of Morrisonville; one sister, Dorothy Woodington of Plattsburgh; her co-pilot, Maggie Reome of Morrisonville; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

One son, Richard Parry died in 1971.

Private calling hours and a funeral service will be held for the family followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

Donations in her memory may be made to American Cancer Society.

Anna M. Decosse, 51, of Webster Manor, Malone, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, N.Y.

She was born in Oswego, N.Y. on Jan. 14, 1951, the daughter of John and Minica (Miserentino) Clark.

Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 8, 2002 from 12 to 2 p.m.

Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with Rev. Howard McCasland officiating.

Burial will take place at Immaculate Heart Cemetery, Churubusco.
