Germaine Hulbert

Peru — Germaine Hulbert, 94, formerly of the Lapham Mills Road, Peru, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in South Hadley, Mass., April 8, 1908, the daughter of Henry and Zella (Soulier) LaFountain.

She married Jesse J. Hulbert, Oct. 24, 1927, at the St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. He died Sept. 26, 1985.

Mrs. Hulbert was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Peru. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldine and Leonard Guiles of Saratoga Springs, Thelma and Leon Carter of Cohoes and Rita and Frank Rock of Peru; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jon and Ann Hulbert of Fayetteville, N.C., and Dennis and Karen Hulbert of Plattsburgh; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by a son, Wendel Hulbert; and daughter, Clare Calkins.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with Rev. Vicente Jazmines, pastor, celebrating.

Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Augustine's Church Building Fund.

Paul T. Duhaime

PLATTSBURGH — Paul T. Duhaime, 53, of Tiffany Way, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 14, 1949, the son of Henry A. and Theresa L. (Roy) Duhaime.

Paul served in the U.S. Army from May 22,1967 until April 15, 1971. He graduated from Clinton Community College in 1974 and from Plattsburgh State University College in 1976.

Paul wrote poetry and had some of his poems published. He was also an inventor who held several patents, including one for a "mail and driveway dectector".

Mr. Duhaime was a member of St. Peter's Church, he was also a member of the AARP, DAV Chapter 178 and the American Legion Post 769 in Chazy.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Millie Santos; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Terri Duhaime of Brentwood, Tenn., and Patrick and Punki Duhaime of Plattsburgh; one sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Robert Murray of Brattleboro, Vt.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; one brother, Andre Duhaime; and one sister, Theresa Duhaime.

There will be no public calling hours.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.

Burial will follow in St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Peru.

Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

The R. W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William J. "MURPH" Light

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — William J. "Murph" Light, of Park Avenue, Plattsburgh, N.Y. and Seasons at the Woodview Assisted Living, Powell Road, South Boston, Va., died on Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at age 94, after a two week illness.

Mr. Light, a retired New York State Corrections Officer from Clinton State Prison in Dannemora, N.Y., was born to the union of William and Susan (Allen) Light of Morrisonville, N.Y. on May 22, 1908.

He was a former town clerk, volunteer fireman, and town constable of the village.

Mr. Light has been a member of the Plattsburgh Elks Lodge 621 for over 58 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II as a sergeant in the military police.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Allen M. Light, former Plattsburgh city attorney, who practiced in Plattsburgh for well over fifty years and Raymond Light, an educator who served for many years with the New York State Education Department.

Mr. Light is survived by his wife, Anna L. Light; his daughter, Susan Ann Regan; a son-in-law, Michael P. Regan; three grandsons, Michael, Brian and Mark Regan, all of Danville, Va.; 6 nephews, Timothy and Thomas Ayres, William, Robert and Richard Bessette and William Light.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Brown Funeral Home at 29 Broad Street in Plattsburgh, N.Y. on Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Burial services will be conducted at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh on Saturday, Oct. 26,2002, at 10 a.m.

Internment will follow directly thereafter at the family plot in Magdala Solitude Cemetery of Saint Alexander's Church in Morrisonville, N.Y. Reverend Daniel Keefe, pastor of St. Mary's of the Lake, will officiate.

James E. Peckham, 63, formerly of Overlook Apartments, Bloomingdale, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

He was born in Saranac Lake, N.Y., on March 11, 1939, the son of Edward and Ida (Ramsdale) Peckham.

Calling hours will be at Fortune - Keough Funeral Home on Friday from 1 to 3 p.m.

The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Patrick O'Reilly officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Vermontville.

Daniel "Danny" Dwight Brand, 16, of the Johnston Road, Burke, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, N.Y.

He was born in Malone, N.Y., on Sept. 3, 1986, the son of Daniel and Donna (Nesbitt) Brand.

Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. only.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Derek Trudell officiating.

Burial will take place at North Burke Cemetery, Burke.

Carolyn A. Rhinehart, 68, of Chittenango, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002.

She was born in Chateaugay on June 2, 1934, the daughter of Ray and Bertha (Cowan) Rhinehart.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the Earlville Cemetery.

Local arrangements are through the Chateaugay Funeral Home.

Arnold A. Beal, 66, of Rouses Point, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt.

Arrangements were incomplete Wednesday evening at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Champlain.
