Kenneth "Skip" Bombard

Clintonville — Kenneth "Skip" Bombard, 63, of 55 Lower Road, Clintonville, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at his home.

He was born in Troy, April 30, 1939, the son of Walter and Lola (Coonrodt) Bombard.

He was a lift operator at the Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort, Wilmington for 17 years. Skip was employed as a logger for different companies for several years.

He is survived by his mother, Lola Bombard, of Bloomingdale; three daughters, Patricia Bombard of Clintonville, Barbara and Ricky Joy of AuSable Forks and Tammy and John Joy of Peru; four sons, Kenneth W. Bombard Jr. of Clintonville, Richard J. Bombard of AuSable Forks, Marvin O. Bombard of Clintonville and Robert and Rebecca Bombard of Peru; eight grandchildren, Kenneth W. III, Courtney, Ryan, Justin, Shannon and Shauna Bombard, and Kyle and Cory Joy; three sisters, Gail Bombard, Joan Drake and Pamela Bombard; five brothers, Richard, Bruce, Melvin, Larry and James; two stepbrothers, Scott and Francis Kilbourne; and several nieces and nephews.

His wife, Cheryl Camire Bombard, died Sept. 15, 2001, also his father, Walter Edward Bombard; a sister, Barbara; and two brothers, Walter and Stephen Bombard, predeceased him.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the family plot in Fairview Cemetery, AuSable Forks.

Charles W. Petenyi

PLATTSBURGH — Dr. Charles W. Petenyi, 91, of Point View Terrace in Plattsburgh, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at his home under the care of his loving wife, dedicated caregivers and Hospice.

Dr. Petenyi was born in Budapest, Hungary, on Feb. 3, 1911, son of Charles and Margaret (Rupp) Petenyi.

Dr. Petenyi married his wife, Elizabeth (Hauner) Petenyi in 1940. They came to the United States in April of 1949 and moved to Plattsburgh in that same year. From 1951 to 1954, Dr. Petenyi was in New York City and affiliated with Presbyterian Columbian Medical Center. In June of 1954, Dr. Petenyi returned to Plattsburgh and from 1954 to 1978, he was Pathologist at CVPH Medical Center.

Dr. Petenyi is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, of Plattsburgh and several close friends.

His brother, Otto, predeceased him in Budapest.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at the chapel at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh at 11 a.m. A Memorial Mass will also be held in Budapest at the inner city old parish church where he was baptized and married.

Following cremation, Dr. Petenyi will be buried in Traunsten, Germany, with his father, who died there a refugee.

Memorial gifts may be made to FitzPatrick Cancer Center or Hospice of the North Country.

Rose McClatchie

Lake Clear — Mrs. Rose McClatchie, 70, formerly of Rugar Street, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at the home of her granddaughter.

She was born in Plattsburgh on April 6, 1932, daughter of the late Raymond and Agnes (Garreau) Tobin.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Hilary Blanchard and her husband Harold of Lake Clear; two great-grandchildren, Stormy and Anastasia both of Lake Clear; two sisters, Loretta Clukey and her husband Larry of Florida and Agnes Chester of Plattsburgh; and one brother Frank T. Tobin of Florida.

Funeral services will be private and according to her wishes.

Arrangements are with the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Robert Edward Rock

Beekmantown — Robert Edward Rock, 55, of the Seymour Road, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Aug. 17, 1947, son of Robert Edward and Genevieve S. (Corrow) Rock.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He had been employed by and retired from Miner Institute in Chazy. Robert had coached baseball and basketball at Chazy Central School and was currently driving truck for F.W. Webb. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a jack of all trades.

Robert is survived by his wife, the former Susan Marie Rodriguez of West Chazy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Jennifer Rock of Champlain; Jeffrey Rock and his fiancé Bobbie-Jo LaBarge of West Chazy; his mother, Genevieve Rock of Plattsburgh; a brother, Howard and Loretta Rock of Port St. Johns, Fla.; three granddaughters, Samantha Rock, Katelin LaBarge, Ali Rock; father-in-law, Reinaldo Rodriguez of Florida; mother-in-law, Shirley McGrath of Oswego; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, Oct. 23, 2002, at 10 a.m. from St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Chazy.

Donations in his memory may be made to his family.

Helen I. Fountain

West Chazy — Mrs. Helen I. Fountain, 81, of Route 22, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in West Chazy, N.Y. on Jan. 30, 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Dora (Stacey) Jennette.

Helen and her husband, Herbert, owned and operated a dairy farm until this year. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church.

Helen is survived by her husband Herbert, whom she married May 18, 1941, of West Chazy; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Herbert "Bud" and Ellena Fountain of Liverpool, N.Y., Gary Fountain of West Chazy, N.Y. and Marvin and Mary Fountain of West Chazy; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sandra Barnes of Madill, Okla., and Darlene and Bill Guerin of Altona; seven grandchildren, Monique, Merinda, David, Katherine, Ryan, Jason and Katelin; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Helen was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Dora Jennette; her brothers, Clifford and Harold; and a sister, Marion.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church, West Chazy.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Friends wishing, may make donations to West Chazy Ambulance Fund or American Cancer Society.

Virginia Watkins, 76, of 173 Rand Hill Road, Morrisonville, died Sunday, Oct. 2002, at her residence.

She was born in New York, N.Y. on Oct. 16, 1926, the daughter of Albert and Florence (Lewis) Watkins.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at 2 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on the Rand Hill Road in Morrisonville.

The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William J. "MURPH" Light, 94, of Park Ave., Plattsburgh and Woodview Assisted Living in South Boston, Va. died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, after a two week illness in Virginia.

He was born in Morrisonville on May 22, 1908, son of the late William and Susan (Allen) Light.

Calling hours will be Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A funeral Service will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at 10 a.m. from the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Daniel Keefe, pastor of St. Mary's of the Lake, officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Alexander's Cemetery in Morrisonville.

Rita A. Carley, 78, formerly of Burke, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at the Franklin County Nursing Home, Malone, N.Y.

She was born in Malone on April 9, 1924, the daughter of Dominic and Helen (Legacy) Sorell.

Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, in St. George's Church with Rev. Ray Moreau officiating.

Burial will take place at St. George's Cemetery in Burke.

DANIEL DWIGHT BRAND, 16, of Johnston Rd., Burke, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone.

Calling hours will be Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Chateaugay Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m.
