Published: 10/21/02Marjorie B. KelleyPORT HENRY — Marjorie B. Kelley, 81, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at Elizabethtown Community Hospital in Elizabethtown. She was born in Rochester, N.Y., on March 9, 1921, the daughter of Irene Roberts and John Bacon. Marjorie loved music and she loved to read and play bridge, but above all, she loved her family. She was predeceased by her husband, William E. Kelley, whom she married on Oct. 30, 1942. She is survived by her three children, William E. Kelley and his wife, Laurie, of Kingston, N.Y., Nancy and her husband, Dr. Paul Kullman of New Russia, N.Y., and Pamela K. Brush of Westport; a brother, Edward Hall and his wife, Betty, of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Amy Brush, Eric and Caitlyn Kelley, and Jay, Sean, Paul and Jillian Kullman; her sisters-in law, Helen Pratt of Balston Lake, Jean Stahl of Port Henry, Joan Gladd of Saranac Lake; her brother-in-law, Joseph Kelley of Balston Lake; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial mass at 10 a.m. on Nov. 2 at St. Patrick’s Church in Port Henry. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Port Henry. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite SPCA in her memory. Margaret M. LaValleyBEEKMANTOWN — Margaret M. LaValley, 88, of 871 Durand Road, died peacefully at her home early Sunday morning, Oct. 20, 2002, listening to country music with her loving children and grandchildren at her side. She was born in Mooers Forks on Nov. 4, 1913, the daughter of Benjamin and Philanda (Peet) Nephew. Mrs. LaValley was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy. She married the late Zepher J. LaValley at St. Ann’s Church in Mooers Forks in 1934. Survivors include three sons, Leonard LaValley and his wife, Lucy, of Plattsburgh, Lawrence LaValley and his wife, Joan, of Peru, and Gerald LaValley and his fiancée, Dennise, of Beekmantown; three sisters, Nellie Burdo of Plattsburgh, Theresa Larochelle and her husband, Robert, and Irene McComb and her husband, Harold, all of Mooers Forks; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Two daughters, Dorothy LaValley and Theresa Stone; four brothers, Benjamin, Alex, Robert and Arthur Nephew; and four sisters, Rose Garrand, Marie LaValley, Rita Miller and Bertha Trombley, all died earlier. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy, followed by burial in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country in her memory. Marie Healey FleuryWESTVILLE — Marie Healey Fleury, 64, of State Route 37, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at her home. Born in Chateaugay on July 12, 1938, she was the daughter of William and Rachel (Gonyea) Healey. She was married to Robert Jay Fleury on Dec. 19, 1969, in St. Patrick’s Church in Chateaugay by Msgr. Harold Skelly. Mrs. Fleury is survived by her husband of 32 years; four brothers and four sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Salli Healey of Lake Placid; Gerald and Jayne Healey of Walnutport, Pa., Ambrose and Margaret Healey of New Milford, Conn., and Herbert and Carolyn Healey of Chateaugay; a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Patrick Calnon of Chateaugay; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother in 1987 and her father in 1992. Mrs. Fleury graduated from Chateaugay Central School, the class of 1955. During her earlier working years, she was employed at Alice Hyde Hospital as an admitting clerk, then employed at Montgomery Wards, and more recently as a clerk in the outpatient surgery department, retiring in January 2000. Marie was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Westville and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. An active member of the parish, she served as Eucharistic minister and former member of the parish council. She was also a member of Home Bureau. Marie had a love for life, family, friends and especially her nieces and nephews. She was a very "special aunt." Calling hours will be held at Chateaugay Funeral Home on Monday, Oct. 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Our Lady of Fatima Church in Westville. Burial will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Constable. Donations in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church or Westville Fire Department. Arrangements are with Chateaugay Funeral Home. VIRGINIA WATKINS, 74, of 173 Rand Hill Road, Morrisonville, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at her residence. Arrangements are incomplete at this time with the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. SHIRLEY A. WHITNEY, 71, of Chestertown, died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Arrangements with Barton-McDermott Funeral Home, Inc. are incomplete at this time.
