Published: 10/20/02George R. LessardAuSable Chasm — George R. Lessard, 85, of Old State Road, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, on July 23, 1917, the son of Isidore and Laura (Compeau) Lessard. Mr. Lessard was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers for 54 years. He was a longtime member of the Keeseville AuSable River Lodge 149 F&AM and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was an avid coin collector. Survivors include his wife Virginia (Thompson) Lessard of AuSable Chasm; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Joseph DesGroseilliers of Keeseville and Mary and Steven Wedderien of Dalzell, S.C.; four sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Teri Lessard of Ballston Spa, David and Lois Murray Lessard of AuSable Chasm, Donald Lessard of AuSable Chasm and Robert and Mary Lessard of Melbourne, Fla.; one brother and three sisters-in-law, Leo and Edna Lessard of Lakeland, Fla., Ida Lessard of Wellsville and Edith Lessard of Glens Falls; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Larry, Wilfred and Jean Lessard; and two sisters, Loretta Lessard and Cecile Fanton. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. A Masonic service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the AuSable Chasm Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Roger H. Hebert, 83, of the Flat Rock Road, Morrisonville, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point. He was born in Hemmingford, Quebec, on Dec. 3, 1918, the son of Joseph and Elouge (Bilow) Hebert. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Cooperville. Paul J. Benoit, 87, of Owls Head, N.Y., died Friday evening, Oct. 18, 2002, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, where he had been a patient since Monday and in failing health for quite some time. He was born in Owls Head, N.Y., on Aug. 13, 1915, the son of the late Harrison and Alice (Benware) Benoit. Calling hours will be in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone on Friday, Oct. 25th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Owls Head, N.Y. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lake Titus Road, Malone. Horace J. "Doc" Passino, 83, of Bigelow Street, Malone, died Friday evening, Oct. 18, 2002, at his late home, under the care of his family and Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Malone on Feb. 12, 1919, the son of the late Francis and Laura (Bashaw) Passino. Calling hours will be in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 22nd, at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame Church, Malone. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Marie Healey Fleury, 64, of State Rt. 37, Westville, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at her home. She was born on July 12, 1938, the daughter of William and Rachel (Gonyea) Healey. Calling hours will be at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Westville. |
