Jacob R. Tolosky

Dannemora — Jacob R. "Jake" Tolosky, 78, of Dannemora, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Dannemora on Oct., 14, 1924, the son of Jacob J. and Eva (Ryan) Tolosky.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Europe during World War II. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 11 years and was later employed as a lieutenant at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora for over 30 years. He was a member of the Dannemora American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Ryan) Tolosky of Dannemora; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan and Reginald Carter of New Albany, Ohio, and Sister Rosemary (Nancy) Tolosky of Hawthorne, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Maria Tolosky of Beulah, N.D., and Amy Tolosky of Baltimore, Vt.; two grandchildren, Kevin and Megan Carter; and his nephews, Bernard Tolosky of Beulah, N.D., Jacob Bonar of Scottsdale, N.Y., Richard Bonar of Claremont, Calif., and John Tolosky of Baltimore, Vt.

His parents; his stepmother Edith (Rabideau) Tolosky; two brothers, James and Anthony Tolosky; and a sister, Mary Bonar, all died earlier.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday from St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.

The O'Neill - Redden - Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh is in charge of arrangements.
