Published: 10/14/02James L. LaramieCHAZY — James L. Laramie, 57, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at CVPH Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. He was born on Jan. 21, 1945, in Plattsburgh, the son of Albert and Golda (Bow) Laramie. James is survived by a sister, Barbara Carpentier and her husband, Richard, of Chazy; one brother, Melvin Laramie and his wife, Joyce, of Champlain; three nephews, Todd Carpentier of Chazy, Michael Laramie of Underhill, Vt., and Mark Laramie and his wife, Tina, of Boonville; a great-niece, Sydney Laramie, and two great-nephews, Max and Eli Laramie. Besides his parents, one sister, Monica Laramie, and a nephew, Terry Carpentier, also predeceased him. James graduated from Chazy Central Rural School in 1962 and attended Miner Agricultural and Technical Research Institute and SUNY at Plattsburgh. He spent 35 years working in the apple business. He worked as plant manager for Don G. Orchards Inc. in Peru for three years and then for Chazy Orchards until the present. James spent much of his life doing community service which he really enjoyed. He was councilman for the Chazy Town Board since 1978 and a member of the Chazy Volunteer Fire Department for over 18 years. He also served as an EMT and was director of Emergency Medical Services for Clinton County. He joined the Chazy Lions Club in 1969 and held all offices. He was a chairman of the Chazy Sacred Heart Church in Chazy, the BPOE #621 Elks Lodge in Plattsburgh and the Knights of Columbus Council #3525 of Champlain. Calling hours will be at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday. The Knights of Columbus will meet at the Council Room at 7 p.m. or at the funeral home for the 7:30 p.m. wake service. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Chazy Lions Club Scholarship Fund or the American Cancer Society. Clifford F. MousseauPLATTSBURGH — Clifford F. Mousseau, 85, of Salmon River Road, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on Nov. 25, 1916, son of the late Francis and Lorena (Newell) Mousseau. Clifford had attended St. Peter’s School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He had been employed by D and H Railroad for 17 years and then Georgia Pacific Paper Mill, retiring from there in 1980. Clifford was a member of American Legion Post #1619 in West Plattsburgh, the Keeseville Lodge of Elks #2072, Knights of Columbus Council #7248 in Treadwells Mill and a member of St. Augustine’s Church in Peru. Clifford is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary F. and Cathy Mousseau of Athens, N.Y., and Denis C. and Shannon M. Mousseau of Peru; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Jack Baker of Morrisville and Tammy and William Upton of Chazy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Barbara Mousseau of Florida and Barney and Roseanne Mousseau of Elizabethtown; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Winifred and James Wilson of Auburn and Jane and William Miner of Plattsburgh; eight grandchildren, Cherie, Mark, Shawn, Chad, Corey, Derick, Michael and Ryan; two great grandchildren, Felix and Jaden; and several nieces and nephews. Clifford was predeceased by two sons, Mark Mousseau and Todd Mousseau; his wife, Florence Mousseau; three brothers, Walter Mousseau, Arnold Mousseau and Marvin Mousseau. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. members of the Knights of Columbus will meet 7:30 Tuesday evening for services. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 16 at a time to be announced from St. Augustine’s Church in Peru. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Edith F. DucatteCADYVILLE — Mrs. Edith F. Ducatte, 93, formerly of Cadyville, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at Heritage Nursing Home in Troy, N.Y. She was born in Plattsburgh on Oct. 23, 1908, the daughter of George and Ida (Newell) Mousseau. A homemaker her entire life, Edith loved to entertain her family and friends with her cooking and social skills. She arranged and oversaw the St. James Minor Church dinners for more than 35 years. She was predeceased by her parents George and Ida Mousseau; her husband, Ross Ducatte; a son, Cliff Ducatte; her stepsons Harold Ducatte and Russell Ducatte; a grandson, Scott Monty; and several brothers and sisters. Edith is survived by her children, Robert Ducatte and his wife, Nancy, of Poestenkill, N.Y.; M Ross Ducatte and his wife, Mary, of Wake Forest, N.C.; Joanne Monty and her husband, Robert, of Grand Isle, Vt.; a stepdaughter, Ruth Bernard of Plattsburgh; a brother, Ralph Mousseau and his wife, Edna, of Plattsburgh; a sister, Marie Mousseau of Plattsburgh; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday, Oct. 13, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Minor Church in Cadyville with the Rev. Msgr. Lawrence Deno as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. James Minor Cemetery. RAYMOND RELATION, 87, of Plattsburgh, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at the Clinton County Nursing Home. He was born on Sept. 4, 1915, in West Chazy, the son of Napoleon and Louise (LaPierre) Relation. Calling hours at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home will be 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. DORIS G. MASTENBROOK, 71, of Hurley Avenue, Lake Placid, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002. She was born July 16, 1931, in Passaic, N.J., the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Wheatley) Mastenbrook. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at the Church of the Nazarene, Wilmington. Memorials may be made to High Peaks Hospice of Saranac Lake. Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home of AuSable Forks is in charge of arrangements. |
