Barbara J. Hoover, 57, of Flynn Avenue in Plattsburgh, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in New Albany, Ind., on May 27, 1945, the daughter of Marvin Hoover and Mary Mashtare.

Calling hours will be Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 11 a.m. from St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.

John Raymond Burns, 71, of Hampstead, N.C., died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, at New Hanover Regional Hospital in Wilmington, N.C.

He was born in Hudson, N.Y., the son of the late John J. and Hannah (Hayes) Burns.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home, 886 Columbia St., Hudson, N.Y. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Hudson, with Rev. Winston Bath officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson.
