King, 84, of King Drive, Chateaugay Lake died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002 at Highland Nursing Home, Massena, N.Y., where he had been a patient since Sept. 16, 2002. He was born in Tupper Lake, N.Y., on Jan. 3, 1918, the son of Alfie and Lucy (Secore) King. They predeceased him. He was married to Blanche McCasland on April 28, 1940. Mr. King is survived by his wife of 62 years; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Ellen King of Central Square, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Christine Miller of Rochester, N.Y., and Lori King of Orlando, Fla.; and many cousins. Mr. King graduated from Lyon Mountain School in 1937. He went to work at the Rutland Railroad for 17 years as a locomotive engineer. He then went to work at the Plattsburgh State Teachers College as a stationary engineer and then the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora and retired in 1980. He was a ham radio operator for many years and enjoyed teaching other new operators the codes. He loved to play the fiddle and feed the birds. He was a member of St. Jude's Church in Brainardsville. Calling hours will be held at Chateaugay Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, in St. Jude's Church with Rev. Ray Moreau officiating. Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Chateaugay. Donations in his memory may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research or the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Dorothy M. FelioHarkness — Dorothy M. Felio, 97, formerly of Harkness, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at the Seneca Manor Nursing Home in Volney, N.Y. She was born in Plattsburgh, on March 12, 1905, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Hallock) Macomber. She was a previous resident of Willimantic, Conn., Webster, N.Y., and Harkness, N.Y. Mrs. Felio was a homemaker, who attended Coventry Presbyterian Church in Coventry, Conn. She was also a member of the Harkness United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifton J. Felio, June 6, 1962. Survivors include one daughter, Caoline E. Penn of Baldwinsville; five sons, Roger A. Felio of Storrs, Conn., Rolland L. Felio of Pulaski, Bernard C. Felio of Pulaski, Norman E. Felio of Peru and Lawrence H. Felio of Oxnard, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Sally White, pastor of the Harkness and Keeseville United Methodist Churches, officiating. Burial will follow in the Harkness Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Harkness United Methodist Church. Rhoda M. Higgins, 92, of Mooers, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002 at her residence. Arrangements were incomplete Monday evening at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. |
