Benny M. Savage

Mineville — Benny M. Savage, 80, of Mineville, N.Y., died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown, N.Y.

He was born Feb. 27, 1922, in Moriah, N.Y., the son of Anthony and Amelia (Denovich) Savage.

Benny was a retired employee of Republic Steel Corp. in Mineville, N.Y.

He was a veteran of World War II.

He is predeceased by his wife Nettie (Ryan ) Savage.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Michael Ingleston of Queensbury; his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Pat Savage of South Glens Falls, his son, Randy and fiancé, Janice Blair of Queensbury, his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Barb Savage of Queensbury; his brother, Alex Savage of Moriah; 11 grandchildren; his two great-grandchildren, Kyra and Kyle Stickney.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Moriah.

Memorial donations may be made to the Horace Nye Nursing Home, Elizabethtown, N.Y.

Retha "Hon" Bouchard

Champlain — Retha "Hon" Bouchard, of Champlain, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Mooers Forks on March 9, 1917, the daughter of Isaac and Sena (Morin) Laventure.

She was employed by Hamilton Standard in Connecticut for over 17 years. She was a member of the Mooers Senior Citizens Good Fellowship Club and was a member of St Ann’s Church.

She is survived by a son, Gary Bouchard of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Lillian F. Bushey of Mooers; two grandchildren, Tina and Joseph Bouchard; and 17 nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Joseph Bouchard; a daughter, Donna Laventure; two sisters and a brother died before her.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday from St. Ann’s Church in Mooers Forks. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Champlain and Mooers Rescue Squads.

The E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers is in charge of arrangements.

Thomas A. "Sandy" Banks Jr., 54, of the Stevenson Road, Westport, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at his home under the care of his famliy and High Peaks Hospice.

Arrangements are incomplete with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Westport
