Janet Bonville Carroll

Plattsburgh — Janet Bonville Carroll, 54, died of Cancer Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Plattsburgh, raised in Peru, the daughter of Mrs. Evelyn Bonville and the late Orville Bonville, also of Plattsburgh.

Mrs. Carroll lived in New York City with her husband, Mr. Rick Carroll and her son, Mr. Kristin Bower. She worked as a claims manager on Wall Street for Country Wide Insurance.

Mrs. Carroll graduated from Peru Central School High School in 1965 and she attended Plattsburgh State University. Besides her husband, son and mother, Mrs. Carroll is also survived by sisters, Mrs. Judy Murphy, Mrs. Kathy Boswell, Mrs. Suellen Longo; and brothers, Mr. William Bonville, Mr. Michael Bonville, Mr. Gary Bonville, Mr. Bruce Bonville and Mr. Dennis Bonville; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A wake will be held Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

Irma E. (Owen) Blaise

KEESEVILLE — Irma E. (Owen) Blaise, 83, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Wilmington on April 5, 1919, the daughter of Herbert Landon and Julia (McLean) Owen.

She graduated from Keeseville High School and was employed at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh for several years until her retirement. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and Senior Citizens of Keeseville.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carole and Robert LaDuke of Dannemora, Bonnie and David Hilbert of Erie, Pa.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mrs. Maida and Raymond LeClair of Keeseville, and Mrs. Hazel LaBounty of Keeseville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. Rodney and Marilyn Owen of Lyon Mountain, Mr. Robert Owen of Keeseville, Mrs. Ethel Owen of Walton, N.Y.; an aunt, Mrs. Asenath Cordway of Keeseville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Raymond Blaise, died May 19, 1980. Her parents, two brothers — Mr. William Owen and Mr. Hubert Owen — and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Williams, also died earlier.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9 from the Church of the Nazarene on Hill Street in Keeseville. A reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall following the committal service at St. John’s cemetery in Keeseville.

The O’Neill - Redden - Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh is in charge of arrangements.

Eva Marie D. Favreau

Rouses Point — Eva Marie D. Favreau, 83, of Rouses Point, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Champlain April 18, 1919, the daughter of Gustave and Laura (Longtin) Filion.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Champlain, a 50 year member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court 1451, a member of the American Auxiliary of Champlain and St. Patrick’s Legion of Mary.

Eva was predeceased by her husband, Edward T. Favreau, who passed away July 11, 1997; a sister, Irene G. Filion; and two brothers, Andrew J. Filion and John B. Filion.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan J. Phillips of Plattsburgh; four sons, Richard E. Favreau and his wife, Lora of Rouses Point, James A. Favreau of Champlain, Bruce T. Favreau of South Burlington, Vt. and Jeffrey P. Favreau and his companion, Mario Guillemette of Rouses Point; four sisters, Rita O’Gara of Saranac Lake, Cecile McCarty and her husband, Billy of Columbus, Miss., Jean Becker and her husband, Martin of Ogdensburg and Anna Trow and her husband, James of Champlain; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Elanor Filion of Champlain; five grandchildren, Matthew Favreau, Andrew Favreau, Emily Favreau, Laura Favreau and Leslie Phillips; several stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Parish or St. Mary’s School in Champlain.

Edith M. Pratt

ROUSES POINT — Edith M. Pratt, 92, of Pratt Street, Rouses Point, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, at the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home.

She was born in Burlington, Vt., June 23, 1910, the daughter of George and Ida Basiliere.

On Sept. 9, 1928, she married Francis Pratt. Mr. Pratt passed away on March 26,1979.

She was very active in volunteer work for the community. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and Senior Citizens.

She was very well known and liked by all. Always a smile and a good joke for a laugh. Her hobbies included knitting and crocheting. What she loved most was making hats and mittens for all.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Drue Pratt of Barre, Vt.; two granddaughters, Star Garneau of South Barre, Vt., and Traci (Pratt) Garneau of Barre, Vt.; six great-grandchildren, David, Shane, Jonathan, Luke, Mindy and Kelsie; one brother, Ralph Basilier of Fairfield, Calif.; and several nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by two sons, Larry and George; five brothers, Robert, Bernard, Paul, James and Gerald; and one sister, Helen Papillo.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catholic daughters of America, the Rouses Point Rescue Squad or the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Rouses Point.

Arrangements are with the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point.

Hugh R. Goetzinger

Lake Placid — Hugh R. Goetzinger, 40, of Victor Herbert Drive, Lake Placid, died suddenly at his home, Aug. 30, 2002.

He was born in Newton, N.J., Jan. 21, 1962, the son of Thomas Goetzinger and Sonia Thompson.

Hugh worked at the Whiteface Club as a painter and carpenter.

He is survived by his mother, Sonia and stepfather, Al Thompson of Huntington, N.Y.; a sister, Heidi Askeland and her husband, Robert of Seacliff, N.Y., and a brother, Bryan Goetzinger and his wife, Teri of Redondo Beach, Calif. He is also survived by a nephew, Fletcher.

There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Rev. Michael Gaffney, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Lake Placid.

The family suggests friends wishing to remember Hugh consider donations to the Tri Lakes Humane Society, 11 Mills Ave., Saranac Lake, NY 12983.

The Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements.

SHERMAN M. BOLLES, age 89, of Lake Wales, Fla., (formerly of Brooksville, Fla.), died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at the Hospice Care of Lake Wales, Fla.

He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

Arrangements and services are through Merritt Funeral Home in Brooksville, Fla.

JOSEPH D. CASTINE, 67, of Rouses Point, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

There will be no public calling hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 5 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain.

HELEN GATES, 81, died Sept. 2, 2002,at Fort Hudson Nursing Home in Fort Edward, N.Y.

There will be no public calling hours and funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
