Rose E. Ensel

Cohoes, N.Y. — Rose "Rona" E. Ensel, 46, of Rudolph Ct., Cohoes, N.Y., died suddenly Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy. Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the beloved daughter of Peter J. Ensel Jr. of Cohoes and the late Ethel M. (Green) Ensel Jr. and stepdaughter of Almeda (Broomhead) Ensel of Cohoes.

Rona was a customer service representative for the NYS Department of Tax and Finance for 25 years. She was a member of the PNA lodge 2462 in Cohoes and its treasurer. She was an avid bingo player and was an enthusiastic fan of the New York Yankees and Giants.

Besides her parents, Rona is survived by her sister, Catherine M. (J. Donald) Clairmont Jr. of Cohoes; her brother, Peter J. (Carla) Ensel III of Plattsburgh; her cherished nieces and nephews. Amanda M. Clairmont, Margaret Giller, J. Donald Clairmont III, Sean Clairmont, William Clairmont, Bryan P. Ensel and Chelsea M. Ensel; seven great-nieces and nephews; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friend are invited and may call at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes, on Sunday, Sept. 1st, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral from the funeral home will be held Monday morning at 8 a.m. with a Mass of Christian burial at St. Bernard's Church at 8:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Waterford Rural Cemetery, Waterford.

Donald J. "Frenchy" Boulerice

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. — Donald J. "Frenchy" Boulerice, 68, of the Town of Wappingers Falls, died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie.

Mr. Boulerice was a self -employed contractor. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Boulerice was an avid fisherman and gardener.

He was born in Mooers, N.Y., on May 13, 1934, the son of Jesse and Alice (LaBier) Boulerice. He married Veronica Ganc Boulerice, who died in 1988.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Betsy Boulerice of Poughkeepsie and Joseph and Debbie Boulerice of Hopewell Junction; two granddaughters, Sara and Robin; five sisters, Catherine Tatro of Pensacola, Fla., Linda Kelly and Diane Juneau, both of Morrisonville, June Juneau of Chazy and Elizabeth Ashline of Mooers; and his companion, Eileen "Bunny" Allen of Wappingers Falls.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Shirley Bechard, Joyce Burns DuRoss and Beverly Willette; and two brothers, Robert Boulerice and Bernard Boulrice.

A funeral service was held on July 2, 2002, at the Delehanty Funeral Home in Wappingers Falls, officiated by Msgr. Frances Dellew, pastor of St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls. Soloist was a friend, Diane Kortright. A poem composed by Steven Falco was read by Donald’s sister, Dianne Juneau. The eulogy was written and reflected upon by Donald’s sister, Elizabeth Ashline. Evergreen seedlings were presented to sons and daughters-in-law, John and Betsy Boulerice, Joseph and Debbie Boulerice and companion, Eileen "Bunny" Allen. Pallbearers were brothers-in-law Frank Ashline, Roland Juneau, Richard Juneau, nephews Lawrence Tatro and Randall Tatro and Robert Kortright, a friend.

Burial followed in the Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Fishkill, where Msgr. Dellew recited committal prayers.

Bernard L. Boulrice

South Waverly, N.Y. — Bernard L. Boulrice, 65, of South Waverly, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa., after an extended illness.

He was born on April 27, 1937, in Mooers, N.Y., the son of Jesse and Alice (LaBier) Boulrice.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959 and returned to the Valley upon his discharge from military service. He was employed for 35 years as a machinist for Kennedy Valve in Elmira, N.Y.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing and the great outdoors.

Mr. Boulrice was a member of St. John Catholic Church, South Waverly and the American Legion Post 283 of Milltown.

He is survived by his children, Richard Boulrice of Binghamton, N.Y., Connie and her spouse Todd Eccleston of Clayton, Ga., Bernard Boulrice Jr. of South Waverly and Susie and her spouse Philip Kline of Waverly, N.Y.; five grandchildren; one brother and his companion, Donald Boulrice and Eileen Allen of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Catherine Tatro of Pensacola, Fla., Elizabeth and Frank Ashline of Mooers, June and Roland Juneau of Chazy, Dianne and Richard Juneau of Morrisonville and Linda and Carl Kelley of Morrisonville.

He was predeceased by an infant son, Jesse Boulrice III; and three sisters, Shirley Bechard, Joyce Burns DuRoss and Beverly Willette.

Calling hours and a Biblical wake service were held on June 6 at the Lowery Funeral Home in Athens, Pa. A prayer service was held on June 7 at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. John Catholic Church, South Waverly, with the Rev. Vincent Langan officiating. The organist was Bryce VanNoy; Edward Covert assisted at the alter.

Pallbearers were Richard Boulrice, Mike Willette, Bernard Boulrice Jr., Albert Ashline, Todd Eccleston and Phil Kline. Military honors were accorded by Skiff-Bower VFW Post 1536 of Sayre, Pa. Color Guard was Floyd McNeal and George Stoll. Honor guard was John Felicita and Rodney Briggs. Sergeant-at-Arms was O.C. Spencer. The flag was folded by Spencer and Gary Conrad and presented to the family by Spencer. Bugler was Joseph Polinski. Burial was in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens.

Margaret G. Hebert

PLATTSBURGH, NY — Margaret G. Hebert, 79, of 133 South Peru Street, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at her residence following a long illness, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Nov. 13, 1922, in West Chazy, N.Y., the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Lucia) LaPier.

Margaret married Clarence Hebert in St. Peter’s Church on Aug. 29, 1942. Clarence died on Dec. 23, 1999.

She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church and a former member of the Fun Timers Square Dancers Club.

Margaret also enjoyed shopping, reading, camping and spending time with her family.

Survivors include six sons and two daughters-in-law, Lawrence Hebert of New Britain, Conn., Michael Hebert of Manchester, Conn., Dale Hebert of Los Angeles, Calif., Scott Hebert of Plattsburgh, Robert and Carole Hebert of Utica, N.Y., and Gary and Carolyn Hebert of Marblehead, Mass.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Joanne Hebert of Danbury, Conn., Linda LaPoint of Plattsburgh and Brenda and Dan LaPoint of Plattsburgh; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Elaine LaPier of Keeseville, Theodore and Margaret LaPier of Plattsburgh and Edward and Virgilus LaPier of Sciota, N.Y.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Eva Sheridan of Plattsburgh and Audrey and Willard Bulriss of West Chazy; a sister-in-law, Flora LaPier of Lake Luzerne; five grandchildren, Dina LaPoint - Miller, Lisa LaPoint, Debra Roberts and Keith and Amanda Hebert; one great-grandchild, Jocelyn Roberts; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by five brothers, Orville, Raymond, Walter, Francis, and Bernard LaPier; and one sister, Gertrude Fifield.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Victory Church, with the Rev. Floyd Bleaux officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice Care of the North Country, The FitzPatrick Cancer Center, or to Our Lady of Victory Church.

Truman A. "Jack" Bruso

Plattsburgh, N.Y. — Truman A. "Jack" Bruso, 89, of Riverside Avenue, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at his residence.

He was born on Sept. 29, 1912, in Lyon Mountain, N.Y., the son of Fred and Ada (Welch) Bruso.

Jack married the former Marion Thompson in the Dannemora Methodist Church office on July 17, 1935. Marion died on Dec. 15, 1993.

Mr. Bruso was a member of the Elizabeth Street Wesleyan Church, working on the church board for many years and as "greeter" on Sunday mornings. Jack was the service manager at L.C. Bolles Chevrolet for 17 years until 1957. In 1958 he worked for T.J. Ryan Chrysler as a mechanic for five years and then later for Dan Santa Chevrolet and Bill McBride Chevrolet as parts manager for 12 years. He retired in 1983 at age 70.

Survivors include three daughters, Marguerite "Peggy" and Bernard Grabczewski of Plattsburgh, Ada and Roderick Bertrand of Champlain and Linda Achey of Macungi, Pa.; one brother, Harley Bruso of Plattsburgh; one sister, Leah Gadway of Chasm Falls; 14 grandchildren; and several great - grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by two sons, Robert Bruso and William Bruso; and two sisters, Freda Gadway and Constance Fifield.

Calling hours will be on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Elizabeth Street Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery in Saranac.

Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice Care of the North Country or the Elizabeth Street Wesleyan Church Memorial Fund.

Charles H. Walker, 96, died Aug. 26, 2002.

A graveside service was held Aug. 28, 2002, at 11 a.m. in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake. Services were officiated by Pastor Thomas Davis.

Arrangements were with the Jarmusz-Cotton Funeral Home of Victor, N.Y.

Doris Trudeau, 90, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and formerly of Constable, N.Y., died Aug. 6, 2002, in Fort Lauderdale.

She was born in Constable on Feb. 2, 1912, the daughter of the late John and Emma (Premo) Trudeau.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Constable, N.Y., with the Rev. Francis Flynn officiating.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone, N.Y.

Ernest J. "Ernie" Gaulin, 69, of the Conners Road, Peru, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements are incomplete with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.

Virginia M. Manor, 91, of Durand St., Plattsburgh, died Aug. 31, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Beekmantown on May 14, 1911, the daughter of Amos and Josephine (Smart) Manor.
