 Francis Gilbert Reyor Sr.

BELLINGHAM, Mass. — Francis Gilbet Reyor Sr., 77, of 79 Lakeview Ave., Bellingham, Mass., died at home Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1924, in Dannemora, the son of the late Octave and Delphine (Champagne) Reyor.

Francis was a former resident of Cadyville and a resident of Bellingham for 20 years. He worked at Bird Machine Co. in Walpole, Mass., as a welder for 18 years until retiring 12 years ago.

He formerly worked in the steel mines in New York until they closed.

He was a World War II Army veteran. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, American Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal WWII Victory Medal and Philippines Liberation Ribbon with one star. He was a member of the VFW Post 7272 of Bellingham and a member of the NRA and was a large donator to many charities.

Francis is survived by three sons, Francis G. Reyor Jr. of Fort Cobb, Okla., Joseph Reyor of Anadarko, Okla., and Jeffrey Reyor of Woonsocket, R.I.; one daughter, Priscilla Reyor of North Smithfield, R.I.; four brothers, Herbert, Leonard and Hubert Reyor, all of Ellenburg, and Donald Reyor of Cohoes, N.Y.; two sisters, Edith Reyor of Ellenburg and Loretta Reyor of Southbridge, Mass.; six grandchildren, Joseph Reyor Jr., Michael Reyor, Nancy Palmer, Melissa Pratt, Shannon Reyor, Catherine and Brenda Boucher; and several great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Wednesday with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in St. James Church, Cadyville. Interment in the parish cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 6. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

There will also be visiting time the morning of the funeral at the church from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Mabel Eldred

ELIZABETHTOWN — Mabel Eldred, 96, of Crowningshield Road, Elizabethtown, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002 at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 18, 1906 in Elizabethtown, the daughter of Gardner and Nancy (Mason) Crowningshield. She is survived by a niece and her husband, Edna and Al Rourke and their sons, James and Thomas Rourke, all of Shelton, Conn.; and one cousin, Lois Bishop of Westport.

There will be no calling hours.

Funeral services, with the Rev. Fred Shaw officiating, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Marvin’s Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Elizabethtown. Memorial donations may be made to the United Church of Christ in Elizabethtown.

Kenneth J. Burl

PLATTSBURGH — Mr. Kenneth J. Burl Sr., 67, of Cumberland Head Road, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on Jan. 14, 1935, son of Orville and Cecile (Peryer) Burl.

Kenneth was retired from Georgia Pacific in Plattsburgh after 32 years of service. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Kenneth is survived by his mother, Cecile Burl of Plattsburgh; his wife, the former Lola Wilson, whom he married Oct. 1, 1960 at St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh; one son, Kenneth J. Jr. and his wife, Jo, of Queensbury; one daughter, Beth Trela of Selkirk; one brother, Louis Burl of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Elizabeth Mooney of Plattsburgh and Elinor Bedard of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours and funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country.

Arrangements are with Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

CATHERINE DEMERS, 81, of Champlain, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002 at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Clark Funeral Home in Champlain.

ALEXANDRA MYKOLENKO, 94, formerly of Tom Miller Road and most recently of Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility, died on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002 at Meadowbrook.

She was born in the Ukraine on April 11, 1908.

A graveside service will be held Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. from Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

CHARLES E. LaVALLEY, 94, formerly of Route 9N, Jay, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002 at the Uihlein Mercy Center, Lake Placid, where he has been a resident since Dec. 8, 1997.

He was born in Riverview, Oct. 18, 1907, the son of Thomas and Rosella (Rabideau) LaValley.

Calling hours will be from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home in AuSable Forks. Prayer service will follow immediately after the completion of the calling hours at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the family plot at Jay Central Cemetery, Jay.
