Westport — Clyde R. Pooler, 80, of Vaughan Way, Westport, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown.

He was born in Fitchburg, Mass., June 30, 1922, the son of Clyde and Dorothy (Pudvah) Pooler.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945.

Mr. Pooler was employed as the director of veterans affairs in Elizabethtown for many years.

He was a member of the Westport Federated Church, Westport Fire Department, Westport Emergency Squad, captain of the Westport Fire Police for many years, the Fire Department Chaplain and a member of the Sisco Lodge of F&AM 259. He was an avid golfer.

Mr. Pooler was also a member of the Boris Hunting Club and the Long Lake Hunting Club.

Survivors include his wife, the former Sandra Vaughan of Westport; two sisters, Polly Pepin and Joan Card Edgar, both of Tampa, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

At Mr. Pooler’s request his remains will be donated to the UVM School of Medical in Burlington, Vt. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Westport Emergency Squad or Fire Department.

Arrangments are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Westport.

William F. Laundree, 77, of Scott Lane, Keeseville, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at his home.

David Collins, 49, of Don Jr. Way, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Julius S. Mayo, 68, of South Street, Champlain, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at his home.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain.
