Born in Merrill, N.Y., on Oct. 03, 1927, she was the daughter of William and Jennie (Davis) La Point. She was married to Marvin Collins in St. Bernard’s Church, Lyon Mountain on March 17, 1946. He predeceased her on Aug. 7, 1953. Mrs. Collins is survived by three sons, Herbert Collins of Chateaugay Lake, Patrick Collins and his wife, Sharon, of Chateaugay, and Floyd Collins of Merrill; four grandchildren, Patricia Cook, Nanette Hebert, Jeremy Collins and Colleen Collins; two great-grandchildren, Patrick and Douglas Cook; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Pearl Ashline of Lyon Mountain, Dorothy and Carmen Merrill of Saranac and Evelyn LaPoint of Chateaugay; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Howard, Harry, Bernard and Edward LaPoint; and a sister, Geraldine LaMere. Mrs. Collins was employed at Tru Stitch in Malone for 13 years and also the Hollywood Inn of Merrill. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Church, Lyon Mountain and former member of Our Lady of Snow Catholic Daughters and St. Bernard’s Altar and Rosary Society. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed very much by her family and friends. Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at St. Patrick’s Church, Chateaugay, with the Rev. Passino, 65, of 1910 Creek Road in Crown Point, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002 at the Moses Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga following a brief illness. He was born in Montpelier, Vt. on July 27, 1937, the son of Richard and Irene (Devine) Passino. He was a veteran of the Army, serving stateside from 1960 to 1962. Willie was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. In both high school and later on town teams he excelled in the Keeseville area in both baseball and basketball. He was a member of the Keeseville Elks, the Ticonderoga Knights of Columbus, Adirondack Aerie-Ti Eagles and the Ticonderoga American Legion. Retiring after 33 years at International Paper Co. in Ticonderoga, he was a member of the IP Quarter Century Club. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, the former Winifred Snow; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and William Collier of Bellows Falls, Vt.; three granddaughters, Shelby, Sierra and Sydney; one grandson, Jacob; two brothers, Richard Jr. and Gary Passino, both of Keeseville; one sister, Patricia Smith of Keeseville; and several nieces and nephews. At Willie’s request there will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass of Christian Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9 at St. Mary’s Church in Ticonderoga, with the Rev. Walter B. "Bud" MoultonPERU — Walter B. "Bud" Moulton, 82, of LaFlure Lane, Peru, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Ellenburg Depot, July 28, 1920, the son of Bruce and Helen (Paul) Moulton. He was a graduate of Chateaugay High School class of 1936. He was a veteran of World War II, having served five years in the Army Air Corp. as a warrant officer. Bud was retired from Republic Steel Corp., Adirondack Ore Mines as chief cost accountant, and most recently, the Lester E. Thew Funeral Home in Peru. He was a 50-year member of the AuSable River Lodge #149 and past master of Mt. Hermon Lodge in Ellenburg; a member of various Masonic bodies and 32nd degree Mason; a member of the Oriental Shrine in Troy; and member and past president of the Norco Shrine Club. He was a life member of the Keeseville Elks Lodge #2072 and a 57-year member of the American Legion, of which he was a 55-year member of the Lyon Mountain American Legion Post #1623. He was also a member of the Peru Community Church. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, James and Joanne Moulton of Lyon Mountain, Donald and Cathy Moulton of Upper Chateaugay Lake, Jeffrey and Rosemary Moulton of Colts Neck, N.J., and David and Jill Moulton of North Canton, Conn.; a brother, John Moulton of Ogdensburg; a sister, Ethel Ouimet of Chateaugay; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Grace Lloyd, on March 8, 1991; his parents; a sister, Kathryn; and a brother, David. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday at Peru Community Church with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Parker, pastor, officiating. WoodMORRISONVILLE — Mary Louise Wood, 76, of 811 Rand Hill in Morrisonville, formerly of Beekman Towers, died on Friday, Aug. 2, 2002 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Mary was born Jan. 28, 1926 in Plattsburgh to William and Mary Alice (Fredette) Howard. She retired after working 23 years for the Clinton County Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide. Mary is survived by her loving family and many close friends: her son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Janice Wood of Keeseville; her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Reginald Breyette of Morrisonville; one granddaughter, Angela Breyette; three grandsons, Jeff Wood, Ronnie Wood and Shane Breyette; thre great-granddaughters; and her sister, Florence Case, of Wappinger Falls, N.Y. Mary had been predeceased by six brothers, Albert, Arthur, Frank, George, Robert and Walter; and one sister, Helen Sears. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory. LEONA PRESTON, 75, formerly of 30 Greenwood St., Lake Placid, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002 at the Uihlein Mercy Center. She was born in Lake Placid April 2, 1927, the daughter of Oren and Mildred Ferris Preston. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. The Rev. Kenneth Mihill, pastor of the Lake Placid Church of the Nazarene and the Rev. Patrick O’Reilly, chaplain of the Uihlein Mercy Center will officiate. GREGWARE SR., 51, of Spellman Road in Beekmantown, died Monday, July 29, 2002 at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh on Jan. 12, 1951, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (West) Gregware.
