Margaret M. LaBarge

ELLENBURG DEPOT — Margaret M. LaBarge, 90, of Ellenburg Depot, departed this earth to be with the angels on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002.

She was born March 5, 1912, the daughter of Isadore and Celinda (Peryea) LaBarge.

Margaret was the widow of Rollie J. LaBarge who died in 1966. They married in 1929. Margaret was educated in Hamel’s Corner School.

She was the loving wife of Rollie and together they successfully opened and ran LaBarge’s Store on Forest Road where she made many lifelong friends with her smile and friendly manner. Margaret also made many lifelong friends in the Catholic Daughters of America and St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg.

Her beloved children in whom she took great pride were Ronnie (Yvonne) LaBarge, Harold (Mary) LaBarge, Lola Bedard her devoted caregiver for the last five years and Linda (Walter) LaBarge-Fraser. The four granddaughters that Margaret devoted so much time and love to are Roxanne LaBarge, Judy (Brent) Bedard-Suddaby, Patricia (Robert) Bedard-Young and Karen Bedard. Three terrific grandsons survive Margaret, Jake and Joey Suddaby and Matthew Young. Aunt Gladys Paquette of Johnson City, her last surviving sister and Margaret's favorite visitor also survives her.

Mrs. LaBarge was predeceased by her sisters, Emma LaBarge, Anna Bosley, Lena LaFreniere, Edna Rollo, Dorothy LaVoie and her brothers, Clifford LaBarge, Roy LaBarge and Maynard LaBarge.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday from St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Louis A. Forrette

CHATEAUGAY — Louis A. Forrette, 74, of Seymore Road, Chateaugay, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh, N.Y.

He was born in Altona, N.Y., on Jan. 5, 1928, the son of Noah and Flora (Bertrand) Forrette.

He was married to Mildred M. LaValley on Dec. 22, 1951, at St. Ann’s Church, Mooers Forks, N.Y. She predeceased him Aug. 17, 1996.

Mr. Forrette is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Ronald Jarvis of Chateaugay, N.Y.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Henry and Tonya Forrette of Altona, N.Y., and Eugene Forrette of Rochester, N.Y.; grandchildren and their spouses, Wendy Jock of Chateaugay, Wayne and Becky Dibble of Chateaugay, N.Y., Shane Forrette of Plattsburgh,, N.Y., and Corey and Justin Forrette of Altona; four great - grandchildren, Samantha Tuper of Chateaugay, N.Y., Savanna Jock of Chateaugay, N.Y., Tristan Dibble of Chateaugay, N.Y., and Brandan Forrette or Vermont; 2 stepgrandchildren, Stephanie Patnode of Constable and Tina Jarvis of Plattsburgh; 5 great - stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Maxine "Theresa" Theriault of Harrah, Okla., and Mrs. Shirley Vaggis of Midwest City, Okla.; three brothers, Lester and Helen Forrette of Holyoke, Mass., Leo and Marguerite Forrette of Ellenburg and Maynard and Cynthia Forrette of Beckett, Mass.

Those that preceded in death besides his wife, were his mother in 1990; his father in 1992; four brothers, Leeward in 1966, Francis in 1992, Bernard in 1996, Raymond in 1998; and one sister, Vi in 1985.

Mr. Forrette was employed at Texon in Holyoke, Mass., and Cairllier Bar and Restaurant in Willimansett, Mass., before returning to the north country where he was employed at Bouyea Bakery, Plattsburgh for 22 years, retiring in 1988.

He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a medical technician from March 26, 1953 and was honorably discharged March 25, 1955, and then he served in the U.S. Army reserve for 6 years.

He took pride in his lawn and enjoyed working in his vegetable garden.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Chateaugay, the American Legion and the Northern Lights Veterans of Foreign War in Ellenburg.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, in St. Patrick’s Church, with Rev. Ray Moreau officiating. Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Chateaugay.

James "Bucky" Carpenter

WESTPORT — James "Bucky" Carpenter, 60, of Westport, N.Y., died suddenly, Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at his home.

He was born March 3, 1942, in Elizabethtown, N.Y., the son of Francis R. and Mary (Gerow) Carpenter.

Bucky graduated from Westport High and worked for many years for theTown of Westport. He was a 40 year member and past chief of the Westport Volunteer Fire Dept., Commissioner of the Westport Fire District, a Lieutenant of the Westport Coldwater Rescue Dive Team, a member of the Westport Emergency Squad, the Northern New York Volunteer Fireman’s Assoc., the NYS Association of Fire Chiefs, a DEC Bowhunter Education Instructor, member of the Westport Fish and Game Club, an Essex Co. Deputy Fire Coordinator and an Essex Co. Fire Investigator.

He is survived by hli father of Port Henry, a, sister and brother-in-law, lean and Russell Paquette of Westport, a niece, MiGholk" Paquette of Pittsburgh, Pa,, an aunt. and two cousins, Calling hours will be held Sun. frorn 2 6 pni at Marvin's Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. THEODORE GORMAN, 59, of Mooers Forks, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, in Poughkeepsie.

Arrangements were incomplete Friday evening at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers.

KENNETH L. BALDWIN, 86, of Massena died Aug. 1, 2002, at Massena Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 23, 1916, the son of Ferderick and Eva Baldwin.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. The Masonic Lodge 513 will hold a service Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Beth Benham, First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in St. Regis Falls, N.Y.
